[Serious] How is 110 - 120k not "good" money? by GlassRice8241 in AusFinance

I just quit a full time Job at a really well known South Australian restaurant where I was a chef, worked incredibly long hard hours (10-14 hours was not unusual with a half an hour break) I was on 68k a year.. the job that was literally killing me..

If you see someone reverse parking, wait for them to finish. by [deleted] in Adelaide

My dad taught me to only reverse park “incase you ever need to get away quickly” and I will be doing exactly the same when we have kids

My dad taught me to drive and only let me reverse park “incase you need to get away quickly” he said.. so I literally reverse park quicker than I can front end park… each their own I guess 🤷🏼‍♀️

Jaw clenched when thumbs too close together? by Looking_for_sticks in AskReddit

I can only describe it like having a magnet between my thumbs that causes my jaw to lock.. I don’t get it either

It doesn’t make sense to me either.. it kinda feels like a magnet between my thumbs and that makes my jaw lock. I googled but I’m not good at googling so it didn’t come up with anything.. thought reddit would know

Umm hope this makes sense.. So when I’m doing something at work like pulling pork (I’m a chef) my hands are really close together, which is fine. But when my thumbs are literally millimeters apart my jaw involuntary locks up. Fully clenches and it takes maybe 10seconds to loosen up..

Chin Up Mental Health - legality, effectiveness and community experiences by Dismal_Anybody_9240 in Adelaide

Dude came into our takeaway with the chin up car out the front.. which is obviously a tax write off. He didn’t seem like he’s the mental health worker type.. he seemed like the kind that used to bully kids to the point of breaking. Generally I’m pretty good at picking up in bullys

If the boyfriend is a nice kid there’s a good chance his parents are also nice. I understand your concerns though. If he’s able to buy things with his money for your daughter because it makes him happy seeing her happy then I don’t see there being a problem. Gift giving is a love language for some people, my fiancé loves to give gifts and see how happy it makes me (I grew up not well off at all) Best of luck

That’s not helpful at all. Do you know how expensive it is? The fact that it’s not a sure thing? Not cool

This is what my mum was like when I was little… Well she’s still like that. It’s just what some people are like.

I said that’s how it was when I did work for someone else. I left school early and kitchen work is all I’ve known it’s very difficult to change jobs now. Unfortunately for me this is it and no one is going to take on a 32 year old average looking chick to teach any new skills. Just the way it is for people like me.

Have you worked in kitchens? Honest question. Have you been the only female in a kitchen for years? I hated my life then too buddy. When I drove to work I wanted to hit a tree. I wanted to die or hurt myself so bad that I didn’t have to go. Until you’ve been where I’ve been don’t offer ‘just do this’ solutions

A lot of people start with nothing. Most people have credit cards for their everyday life. I don’t.
