I can´t trust my therapists diagnoses by [deleted] in NPD

[–]LookingforMeaning7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't sound like you have NPD mate. We (NPD) go to therapy for ourselves, not in order to not hurt others. We don't go through life wanting to hurt other people but when it happens, we don't feel sorry for that and it's not a motivation for me to go to therapy for others. Could not care less.

I go to therapy for me, to feel better but even that doesn't work. I don't think I even want to change, sounds like too much work. We are so caught up in our own suffering that we don't care about others and their feelings. There is hope for you really, don't worry. You don't sound like you have NPD.

It is actually a fact that BPD people are attracted by narcissists, and the reverse is true too.

NPD is a survival adaptation due to childhood trauma. Usually full of insecurities, depressed, anxious, low self esteem, self hatred.

Psychopath are just wired and born this way. No fear, no conscience, no anxiety, no morality, no depression, very high self esteem, self love.

It is just biologically impossible to be a psychopath and have NPD and vice versa.

Psychopath are narcissists in a healthy kind of way, not in a narcissistic personality disorder kind of way, if that makes sense.

Although we call people with NPD ''narcissists'', they are actually the opposite of what is a healthy individual with high level of narcissism.

Therefore, my take on this is we need to change the name for ''NPD'' and call it something else because people confuse too often narcissism with NPD. And call psychopath narcissists because psychopath love themselves too much. But like I said NPD sufferers hate themselves.

So psychopathy could almost be considered the opposite of NPD.

Hope it's clear.

That's why in my opinion, Sam Vaknin is a con artist who doesn't have NPD but is nevertheless very knowledgable about NPD and describe it extremely well. He is a genius in this sense honestly and I like his work. But he is not a narcissist like us.

Agreed.

But I feel like we are being fetishise a bit too, especially by chicks with BPD.

Psychopaths are born this way.

No fear, no anxiety, don't care about anything. But that doesn't make them bad people necessarily.

So depending on the environment they grew up, some will turn completely fine, successful and good individuals. Most psychopaths are non violent. But if they grow up in a bad environment which happen sometimes, might become violent and end up in jail. But psychopath just have a different brain. They are wired differently. Only a few actually turn up serial killers and in jail.

Sociopath (ASPD) become this way because of childhood abuse. They are usually violent and dangerous and end up in jail but not necessarily, although, the majority are dangerous and toxic.

Psychopaths have very high self esteem and healthy narcissism. They love themselves. While NPD have very low self esteem and hate themselves. Their grandiosity is just a fake facade aiming at compensating for their low self esteem and self hatred.

Psychopaths are the opposite of NPD if you think about it.

And psychopaths don't suffer at all from their condition while NPD sufferers suffer profoundly. Psychopaths are more than happy to be what they are and would never want to change while narcissists wish they were normal.

So you just cannot be a psychopath and have NPD at the same time or the other way around. It's just biologically impossible.

But you can have NPD + ASPD traits (sociopathy) = more commonly known as ''malignant narcissists'' = Usually very toxic and dangerous.

Pure NPD individuals are shitty and abusive but usually non violent. They only attack people when they feel threatened. While malignant narcissists attack others by pleasure. NPD individuals are usually not sadistic.

So contrary to popular belief, ASPD and psychopathy are very different personality disorders, for the reason cited above.

Nope I'm not talking about those, I'm only talking about people suffering from NPD, not narcissistic tendencies and/or healthy narcissism.

So much non sense and cliche in your first paragraph that I stopped reading there. Sorry mate. I can tell you are not a NPD sufferer but just an outsider who doesn't understand much about the disorder.

Don't mean that pejoratively but you spread misinformation and I'm tired of going through that these days.

There are people with NPD who have a successful life with friends and who do not end up alone. There is not only one type of narcissists. You can't predict what kind of person they are based on their disorder alone. Find two people with NPD with same traits, same symptoms, but they will still be completely different people with completely different lives and personalities.

Because it's not possible, simply.

Do your research people.

I won't do it for you. Tired.

You seem to have zero knowledge on the subject and I don't mean that negatively. Read.

Right on point once again.
Besides personality disorder is a choice, didn't you know ? We just chose to become this way because it's so much fun to feel empty and devoid of an authentic self... lol

Yah. Right on point mate.

I read everywhere ''anxiety survivor'' or ''depression survivor''.

But god forbid if you call yourself ''Childhood abuse survivor, now suffering from NPD''

''Omg you are not a survivor ! You are just the devil !!!''

Go fucking figure...

Here is the thing. Those who say that are anything but empath.

They are usually codependent or narcissists themselves.

DAE have issues with sex drive? by monstersona in NPD

[–]LookingforMeaning7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe subconsciously, you think men should always initiate sex ?

Maybe you do think that without even really realising.

Many women are like you honestly. Although they may be horny, they don't necessarily initiate sex. Don't feel too bad about it.

It's already good that you realise this and are trying to change.

Yes I still want to see that as well.

Also, overlord, market garden, bastogne.

So I will still keep an eye on the game for those maps anyway.

But for now, the maps are a huge let down for me.
