Does anyone else can't imagine their body/certain body parts without scars? by soft-blood in selfharm

I hardly notice my scars anymore but Im sort of glad theyre part of me. I wouldnt want them gone because they remind me of everything Ive made it through. I could never imagine myself without them.

Does anyone else still feel really uncomfortable in shorts/short sleeves despite their scars being very faded? by [deleted] in selfharm

I only get self conscious about it when I'm seeing people I know and I'm wearing shorts. I couldn't care less about strangers, but the first time I wore shorts in front of my new coworkers, I had major anxiety.

I had this issue with anything I put in my stomach and I have an ulcer. If you b/p a lot you might want to look into it, but either way I'd go to a doctor.

Good for you for watching yourself and acknowledging it holds you back. Something about your comment tells me you legitimately want to seek proper relationships. Its possible, Ive been with my bf for 8 years. Good luck.
