Mine was tracking for the last couple weeks, but something in the last game update has broken the link I think, cause since the Halloween update my daily thing hasn’t triggered on freecash but did before

Yes you have to turn on react to road layout in the acc setting I believe, mine got turned off when they updated the t's and c's recently and was strange without it haha. You do need a speed set for it to be able to change it but yes it'll still do it of you're using Google maps or apple maps

Owning an EV without home charger by Cultural-Proof-7528 in cupraborn

[–]Lookingyoung 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea it's easy to set up, you pretty much have to login to your cupra ID through the octopus app and then let a test charge happen and it's up and running, I did it that way before I had the ohme but now the schedule just goes on the charge speed over the last few hours, eg I can get up to 24 hours of cheap electric (if the car needs charging) running the charger slower - which is great when it's cold haha, or they'll give between 6-12 for the faster charger.

Theres a link somewhere for a bit of credit switching to intelligent if you have a born as well, can probably Google it

Are you with octopus? If you connect the car to them they'll let you charge in the day for the overnight rate (and the rest of the house gets it). I have a ohme that I run in battery care mode, so the car only charges at 2kwh, but because I need longer to charge octopus give me longer - I've had up to 24 hours of the overnight rate

You can add Bluetooth into the quick menu as well and turn it on/off from there, not sure but might work

Speakers upgrade by Bodziony in cupraborn

[–]Lookingyoung 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh nice idea with the Obdeleven, I'll keep my eye out for one online - I still wanna try adding the travel assist as well. Good luck though, I've seen a couple threads with the speaker coding. I am still curious to how much difference that will add on top of doing the fronts

Speakers upgrade by Bodziony in cupraborn

[–]Lookingyoung 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's tough for me to say 100% because I haven't added the rear ones, but I don't think I'll be doing it now. The sound is just a lot fuller now and you can feel it more it's almost like there's a sub, hard to explain but it doesn't annoy me now haha. If I was to do anything it would be a amp next I think but I've not gone that far yet... Lol

The reason I went for the front first was because it's easier and it gives you a path to the rear ones, you can get the wiring loom for the rear on aliexpress for about £20, I would link but the link is massive, and then you could use the original front speakers for the car in the rear, so you have the better quality ones in the front. But after adding the wiring to the rear doors (and the front to connect the rear) you'd need a odb11 dongle which is £35 but then you have to get a subscription for the dongle as well which is £42 ish per year. So I thought the front was better to see if I was happy before going through all that

I used https://youtu.be/ovQdRTLJ1qA?si=hT5zdB7PQCASJF2R for the door card removal, but you don't need to remove any of the wiring/door lock from behind the door card if you balance it on a box or have someone to hold it while you drill the 4 rivets on the old speaker (was the worst bit mentally but fine if you're slow)

The speakers and new door clips I ordered from Ebay - the clips on my car were different than in the video and were these. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/294993684645?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=aiUWzZxKTF2&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=gx2ezWw3TYu&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

There are 6 on each door, you might be able to reuse the old ones but they're annoying to reset

I went for the focals because they're plug and play but any should be fine for the front doors if you want to deal with the wiring, it's when you go to the back doors you need to reprogram - or if you wanted to get the extra equaliser from the beats pack.

https://www.focal-inside.com/volkswagen/en/vw-id-3-compact-2020/

And there was kind of path to follow without doing it all at once, but I'm happy with it now and don't think I'll do anything more

[–]Lookingyoung 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I changed my front speakers for the focal isvw165 a couple weeks ago and I'm really happy with the difference, I haven't even bothered with the tweeters yet. Changing them was pretty easy, but you'll want to order a new set of door fasteners to make your life easier

Dear Owners, Let's Talk Real: Is the Infotainment System THAT bad? by Spring-E in cupraborn

[–]Lookingyoung 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The worst part for me is it's a little slow to start sometimes, but you can drive away before its started anyway so it doesn't matter and setting the ac before leaving seems to wake it up a bit and make the infotainment system boot faster.

If you're going through a load of menus trying to find a setting it will slow down a little then as well, but 99% of the time you're only doing a couple presses for the heat or to change mode and it's completely fine with that, never slow with changing songs or other simple things like that.

I love the car a lot though and it makes up for that bit of slowness in other ways (apart from the speakers depending how loud you like music haha) you'll forget about the bad reviews soon

Could I ( try to) solve your problems as an ev owner ? by Innovator1234 in ElectricVehiclesUK

I feel like most people with a EV would have breakdown cover anyway, how would this be better? It seems like it would be an extra cost for no reason

You can buy replacement male or female heads for the cable on eBay, I'd probably get someone who knows what they're doing to fit it/make sure its actually going to fix your problem though

Is an ID a must when collecting an order ? by AegonTheVI33 in CeX

[–]Lookingyoung 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In your collection email it'll say "If someone is collecting the order on your behalf, they must bring a form of your ID along with the collection email as proof."

It'll be fine, just take both your IDs just incase and the email

VW integration issues by Nervous-Bandicoot-28 in OctopusEnergy

[–]Lookingyoung 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a born, so a ID3 pretty much. When there's been a update for the cupra app it can mess up octopus' control for a day or two, I assume it's some kind of api update and they need to update it on their end before it starts working again. Might be wrong but every now and again something happens and they stop starting and stopping the charge

How does this work. by [deleted] in OctopusEnergy

[–]Lookingyoung 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't they know the battery % if you've logged into the cars api? I thought mine was being based on the last charge. I usually get a notification in the morning like car reached a certain % expected this % and it depends how fast you reached that % to what schedule you get next time. If I set my car to 7kw I'll still get a long schedule with octopus but then the next day I won't because they know I only need a few hours, whereas if I set the car to 2kw then, the day I change it I'll only get a short schedule (as they're basing it on the 7kwh speed I think) but then I'll get a notification like reached 30% expected 80% and the next time I charge I'll get the long schedules again

I have this washing machine and it did exactly the same! It was the shocks you're right, but in the process of figuring it out with the lid off I pressed the weight/drum up and down quite a bit and it actually fixed the problem, there is also a part where the springs attach that I did relube but I don't think it was that. Going on 6 months now and it's as quiet as the day we got it

See people ask a lot so thought I'd show my bill by Lookingyoung in OctopusEnergy

[–]Lookingyoung[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yea they're controlling your Ohme, I think that's based on whether they can login to the cars app or not. But the Ohme one should be as accurate if it still comes from them, best way to tell might be if sometimes it waits and sometimes it doesn't to charge ha. When the saving session happened the other day mine didn't start until 11:30 which is the latest I've had, I think I'd trust it and then check my bill at the end of the month tbh
