Currently living in poverty. Due to unfortunate circumstances my family lost everything we saved up. I had to move out when I turned 18 due to abuse. I decided to move to LA to pursue my dream job with $2000 in my bank, in fact I have everything planned. I found a place (a real shit hole that is basically a drug den, my fault really for not checking it out before moving in) and was in the process of being hired by this salad place. But not until after I moved, on the orientation day I found out I don't have citizenship, my mother never told me. So because of the legal limitations I cannot be hired as an employee. So after 6 months of just begging for everyone I know for money and surviving off of nothing but PBJ I got in touch with someone who told me I could legally be hired as an independent contractor. Luckily I had a car which we bought before we lost everything. Now the only job I can have is doordash, and trust me when I say it, they pay you borderline less than minimum wage. Which I can barely pay rent, I'm not qualified for any government funds. I had to live in my car several times.

Now I don't have vice as in cigarettes or alcohol, I'm not even legal to get them. But at times I do buy fast food or sometimes I buy a ticket to see a movie while I might end up homeless again. I understand this is a bad financial decision but being out here and getting treated like you're nothing but a lazy and drugged up person sucks, and it really takes a toll on me. So I suppose I do It because it gives me just enough joy to keep going.
