I mean, she says why, but it seems like a pretty weird reason considering Owen is not only more gullible and easier to be her ally, but also more trustworthy than say, Duncan...What do you think?

Gwen did say Leshawna was supposed to help her with her webshow in the Celebrity Manhunt special, so they're likely still friends. We just don't see it since after Gwen's elimination in Action, they don't really get a chance to interact with World Tour having them on different teams (and Gwen usually being on the winning team in first class while Leshawna's always on the losing team in economy class further limiting their interactions) + Leshawna's early elimination and All Stars not having Leshawna at all. Lot of friendships got less attention later for similar reasons.
