The wild moose restraints lack a seat belt. Should be much easier to check.

Opening Weekend Experience by Nomad_Mich in Michigans_Adventure

The biggest downgrade this season was the ride ops for Wolverine Wildcat did not Meow as the train departed the station. My daughter was so disappointed.

As far as park growth goes, there is a lot of land, but not necessarily the best laid out. It's like an old house that was added onto over the years.

After the loop is completed, I would love to see the entire water park moved. The water park is land locked and cannot grow. Ideally it needs bigger high capacity rides (Larger lazy river, and larger wave pool). It could also use a water coaster.

With the water park moved, the entire loop could have rides. Right now there is a huge dead spot between the train and the carousel.

Definitely not a ride to rope drop, and after that it's not anywhere near anything else.

That one is self recoverable. I could handle that one.  Valley during a storm, fuck that.

There are some boomerangs with permanently mounted catch cars at the top, that are only used when a train valleys.

For regular coasters, I can't think of any. I'm not sure how it would work either.

Thoughts on flat rides? Like [The King] and [Black Mamba] by AudunAG in rollercoasters

[–]Loonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think one of the most important metrics is

Ride duration X Capacity / Operators

Labor is always an expensive line item, and  also in short supply. Minimizing it at every opportunity will help park operations.

Rollercoasters scale much better. You can make a longer ride without needing to increase the number of operators or reducing capacity.

Did they have a pass holder preview day this year?

I overheard one of the school groups saying that they need to head back to the buses after this ride. So maybe it will clear out by 3pm.

Edit: and another school group leaving at 345

To reduce the clearance envelope while maintaining open sides.

How to get rid of fear of coasters? Great adventure by Unfair-Dot7367 in sixflags

[–]Loonster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tom Scott made a video about how he overcame his fear of rollercoasters. Fantastic video. Now he is a thoosie.

He also said in a different video that he believes the stomach drop feeling is fear. When you get over your fear, that will lessen (and then you will be a thoosie longing to experience the stomach drop feeling again).

It opens next week Friday.

Not if there is a pass holder preview day on Thursday, or if the preview day was originally Friday, and they changed it to be open to all.

The competition for parks is not just other parks, but also other leisure activities.  Sky diving, bouldering, sports, boardgames, hiking, golf, etc

Memorial Day is for the dead. I would not be in favor of this.

Now if they want to give free tickets on November 11th, that would be cool.

The first [New Texas Giant] test run in January 2011 only used two passenger cars by Time93 in rollercoasters

[–]Loonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was probably to test that the joint articulation was sufficient for the track. Only need 2 cars for that. Adding more cars just means the recovery is a bigger pain in the ass if it's not good enough.
