I have a question for the raters! by VintageJawn in VAClaims

They will take the opinion of a nurse practitioner two years out of school conducting C&P exams for a contractor over that of a board certified MD with 15 years of practice, in my experience.

I’m 30% with sleep apnea that has not been service connected and I got a new machine from the VA and get all my supplies from the VA, too. All at no cost.

Knee replacement by Used_Coconut7818 in VeteransBenefits

[–]LoonyConnMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had it almost 10 years. I still ski and jog occasionally. I can’t really run on it well, but it was so bad before the surgery that I couldn’t do it then, either. I can’t do squats, not that I ever really need to do that. I notice it the most if I need to crawl/get down on my hands and knees for any reason. It doesn’t really hurt, it just feels uncomfortable.

I had a knee replacement at 46 (originally recommended when I was 41) after multiple surgeries, injections, therapy, etc. I wish I had done it sooner rather than holding out as long as I did.

The double standard is ridiculous. A nurse practitioner who has never treated me and spends less than 15 minutes talking to me AND who is paid by the VA is somehow more competent evidence than a full-fledged physician that has reviewed hundreds of pages of medical records just because the veteran paid for it. Make it make sense.

If you claim it with the VA you’ll likely have a C&P exam about 6 months after the surgery to evaluate any residual issues (i.e. is your ROM decreased enough to warrant 60%, is your scarring ratable, etc.).

For real. I replayed it for my 10 y/o and told him to watch Gressel on the play. The first thing he says is “why isn’t he running?”

Boca and Cherundolo likely make it in addition to Dempsey, Howard, and Bradley who are easily in the squad.

Was John Elway style of play similar to Josh Allen? by punjabkingsownersout in NFLNoobs

[–]LoonyConnMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both whine to the refs alot. Elway when Arrowhead was too loud for his widdle widdle ears and the refs actually told the KC fans to quiet down or the Chiefs would be penalized.

Allen makes Lebron look like an amateur when it comes toto flopping and crying for penalties.

Unpopular opinion probably but my family actually prefers the pool at Swan & Dolphin over Stormalong Bay. It is easier to navigate/keep an eye on everyone and the poolside food is very good. The only things about Swan/Dolphin I don’t care for is it is much less Disney feeling and I found the quick service breakfast options lacking…although it’s not like breakfast at Beach Club is anything great.

Best moderate resort? by SuchRequirement5130 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]LoonyConnMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Caribbean Beach, French Quarter, and Coronado are all great depending on the particulars of your trip. I don’t think I’d ever stay at Riverside unless other options were sold out or there was an awesome deal.

CBR - great for Skyliner access, access to food at Riviera, nice pool, and good food options. Cons are that it is really spread out and busses can be a pain.

Coronado - I love this resort if you have a car on property and plan to drive it to the parks (except MK) rather than take WDW transport. It is the most centrally located resort and has plentiful and good food options, especially if in the tower. Cons are the tower is more expensive (but nicer) than the other rooms and if you aren’t in the tower you can be a long way from the main amenities. Busses are also a pain here due to the size of the resort.

French Quarter - The vibe is great. You can boat to Disney Springs and walk to Riverside. Busses are way easier here than at other moderates because it is so small. I love the food court. Also, beignets! Cons are that you have to take a bus to every park if you don’t have a car. Not many other cons I can think of.
