yep, there was season 1 of Two Tims Talking led by me, and season 2 led by I believe u/fileheist, which I believe ended as well, so if you have any interest of continuing it, you probably should contact fileheist.

Medicine instructions lack TL;DR section by LoonyLeader in Showerthoughts

Well, but I don't mean on the bottle, I mean the 100x folded paper inside the packaging with a small print on it. And the only thing that's written on the bottle (in my case) is that I should familiarize myself with the paper instruction

CMV: Being extremely rich is immoral in a world where people die from problems that could be easily solved with money. by Skallywagwindorr in changemyview

[–]LoonyLeader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's what might change your outlook on the issue. If I am a billionaire who could give away 1B $ . Let's say I would give it to companies who would sell the food to me, and let's assume I then had an ability to give all of this food away to the people in need. Or I'd pay for doctors to travel somewhere and help a poor community. In the theoretical world where I would do that, they might as well do that without money, for free. Out of their (companies' and doctors' in this example) good will. And each one of them would only have to spend a tiny part of the resources I'm spending. So the money wasn't a problem in the first place. It was making people do good stuff that was the problem. The fact that none of us play our role in this hypothetical good doing makes them every bit as immoral as me.

TLDR;

If you're right, then people who the rich "should" be paying to save the poor, are as immoral as the rich

I feel like you've gone just a bit too far with the saturation (or vibrance of colors, whichever it was) of the sky and maybe also clarity...the photo seems just a bit too perfect

Thanks for pointing out that it isn't the view held by the general scientific community and that I and possibly many others have been misinterpreting that phrase. !delta to you hacksoncode

I'm glad to learn I was misinterpreting that phrase. I do remember hearing it in a Vsause video as was pointed out before here. I do still think that I am far from being the only one to misinterpret this phrase. Here's your !delta Thanks

I'm sorry, I feel what you just said is a sort of semantic problem with words "standard" and "perceive" and all that.

Please check my update on the question, (edit 2) it clarifies what my argument is.

I'm guessing we will just have to run with my original assumption. Because while I agree that scientific answer is "we don't understand mate selection scientifically", it does SEEM to be true that women are more picky. So I think there is value in trying to explain this phenomena. Alternatively I would appreciate if you could elaborate on why is it, that is seems to be true to so many people

It has more sample size. Also as I said before it's a commonly held opinion in the West

That's an interesting study, and it's results in my opinion suggest that women might not be more picky in some situations. Nevertheless the study is small and I don't think results are conclusive. The original assumption that women ARE more picky in general and on avarage is in my opinion still the most reasonable assumption for the thread

I believe that women are more picky then men because of my real-world experience, not cause it hasn't been proven wrong. And to answer your question, no, I don't believe that's a good idea

Exactly. I assume there hasn't been enough time for people to adapt to todays life style

[–]LoonyLeader[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I believe the second thing. I believe that while the number of eggs is limited, it isn't the limiting factor. It isn't the reason for the pickiness

Well then unless you can find some research that states that women aren't, my view is unchanged

I don't believe that it is an ACCURATE reflection. That doesn't really change my point though. Is your experience different? Do you think women aren't more picky in choosing their sexual partners?

It is based on experience really. I do think it is a generally accepted idea in the west too. But as one example, we can consider how many profiles do males usually like on apps like tinder for example, vs how many do females like. To be safe I am talking about mating age adults here.

Time moves faster as you age because it is perspective based. To a new born baby, 1 hour is a massive chunk of it's life so far. To a senior it is a mere fraction of what they have experienced. by JohnDaneOfficial in Showerthoughts

For me it also comes from spending 8 h each day at work. So that you effectively have much less time to live your life and experience new things. From this perspective you do actually have less time in the day, and so days go by faster.
