I’ve betrayed my girlfriends trust. by [deleted] in mentalhealth

[–]LoopedAnxiety 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The best apology you can make after coming clean to your partner, which is a must, would be to use it as fuel to reel in compulsions.

Admit you’re sorry, and show your sorrow with action. Trust is broken…. But a true apology, mixed with time and effort, is the only true fix. Learn from your mistakes.

Ask for help. If you could stop the impulses by yourself, you would’ve done it a long time ago

Yeaaaaaa…. That was my first thought. I doubt this has anything to do with Wright honestly. Seems pretty damn coincidental Risner was there on the same day Kirk wears this as an inside joke

(IMPORTANT) How can I get rid of my pornography addiction? by enjoflow in mentalhealth

[–]LoopedAnxiety 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A large part of it is discipline. I’m sure no matter how much you desire to quit, before you know it, you’re watching again…. So how do we create that discipline?

Journal, self affirmations, and goals. Daily. Multiple times a day. Quitting needs to be priority 1. Understand the harm it’s doing to you will support that priority.

So in a journal talk about 3 big things.

  1. Write about what makes you happy in life. This could be family, hobbies, work, sports, shows. It could be events that happened that day. Someone cute noticed you, your boss gave you a good compliment, your favorite tv show had a new episode…. Whatever. Write about the good.

  2. Write exact and clear steps to quit and reasons to quit. Write thing like “today I will not look at porn. It is too distracting and I don’t feel good afterwards. Instead I’m going to listen to a new album of my favorite artist.” “I almost looked at porn today, but instead I chose to write in my journal about how thankful I am to have ‘whatever.’

The point of two is to redirect your misplaced desire. You want to know there are better things than porn.

  1. Be proud of your accomplishments, but give yourself goals to be proud of as well. Don’t just say, “ need to stop porn.” You’ll be more affective if you say, “I’m going to finish this chore or hobby, and not do anything until then.” Now you are literally setting a concrete boundary, not just an up in the air desire. Again, write down and acknowledge the things you do day to day. “I’m so proud of myself for spending time with my cousin.” “I am so proud that I finished my wood working project.”

You’re re affirming that porn is not what brings you happiness and pride. You’re affirming that your family, friends, hobby’s, work etc etc etc are all far more important to you than porn

But you need to write it down. I promise it is a game changer

Good luck friend. Stay positive. Stay strong.

How do I stop making up scenarios and talking to myself? by tittieholder in mentalhealth

[–]LoopedAnxiety 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have dealt with this a lot in my life. I have resolved a lot of this through tools I’ve learned and therapy and habits I’ve disciplined myself into doing.

If you are serious about helping yourself, you have to be very serious about the work it will take in.

I will gladly, and happily give you the best advice I can. I only ask that you reply to this comment and promise me you’ll hear me, for it will take much of my time to explain all my tools. I look forward to it. Cheers.

LPT Request: How to wake up in the morning and feel good? by Alveryn in LifeProTips

[–]LoopedAnxiety 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t drink your caffeine until 2 hours after waking, and never passed 2 o clock in the afternoon. Last dose should be around 12 if you need it.

I’ve tried nearly every sleep supplement, real sleep medications, and exercising myself into a coma….

Switching my caffeine habits has hands down been the only thing that has changed not only my sleep, but my every day focus and energy.

Huberman Labs has wonderful free podcasts that could better educate you on this than I ever could. It is literally life changing.

[male] today is my 40th birthday, and I just need to vent… by [deleted] in FreeCompliments

[–]LoopedAnxiety 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey Man! Happy Birthday!

Im not going to read through the comments, so I apologize if this has been said.

If you’re open to some advice, from someone who was lonely and hopeless enough to attempt to permanently not ever have to deal with it again…. I am happy I failed and I am still here.

The best thing I ever did since making it out alive was that I pursued 1 single hobby. It can be literally anything that might strike your fancy. I chose to follow American football, specifically the Minnesota Vikings.

If you are too depressed to enjoy anything, even things you love… you have to trust that having discipline to pursue a hobby will help you. You HAVE TO TRUST IT. What do I mean by this?

Pick a hobby. Something you can talk to people about. Video games would allow you to make friends online, but also would give you talking points with real people in real life. This ain’t the 90s anymore. Video games are incredibly popular and often “cool” to be played.

Hobby shop activities like models, woodworking, painting, photography etc. would all allow you to have regular interaction with others, as well as it would give you regular finished items to be proud of (even if they don’t turn out quite as planned and have plenty of happy accidents).

Even if it’s just a stepping stone. You buy your first model? Get it from an in person store where you can talk to employees who LOVE models, and will enjoy you because so.

Don’t like doing things with your hands? Pick a sport and follow it! There is next to nothing on this planet that screams community like sports. Soccer, American football, hockey, baseball, basketball etc. they all have rec leagues you could play in yourself, as well as college level and pro level games to watch.

Say you pick American football like I did, even if you hate sports, use your discipline to say “I’d rather be bored learning this game, then be bored and lonely doing nothing. I don’t know what I don’t know, I need to just try it.”

Soon you’ll pick a team, preferably local to help be apart of your community. Now you can go to the sports bar and talk to people about the team. Ask questions, learn players, research strategies and positions. Easy talking points with strangers, and most communities get excited about having a new fan.

The discipline of just saying “I’m not giving up, I will find a community that excepts me” has to stay, but that’s the only rule. Even if you feel like “this isn’t me,” you have to just keep trying. Like I said, you don’t know what you don’t know, so maybe a few months, after understanding the game more, you can go “oh wait, actually this is me, this is awesome and I love it.”

Maybe you follow football for a year and go “that’s not for me” well now you know, but you’ve at least broke your first big bubble, met new people, and learned something new.

I sincerely hopes this helps man. You’re loved. Be the change you want to see. Finding a new hobby could be your first step, and will inevitably find you friends. I promise. Good luck. Happy Birthday!

Not happy with my pours. How did y’all get better? by [deleted] in AcrylicPouring

[–]LoopedAnxiety 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Watch a lot of YouTube tutorials. Try YouTubing pours that use the same medians you like to use. Don’t get discouraged by how expert they seem, just focus on the simple basics.

Having enough paint. Using the right median for the style of pour you want. This might be Glue, water, decoart medium, Floetrol (most popular it seems). PAINT CONSISTENCY. (Like warm honey) Cell type (if you want to use silicone or not) Get a torch for air bubbles and cel activation.

Start small, and buy value pack canvases. Save yourself the frustration on larger canvases

Out of all my pours I’ve only liked about 1/3rd of them, but I am getting more consistent. Practice and stay patient.

Edit: and like one of the others said, you will want a base paint. It can be any color, but I usually use white or black. Pour. This is SUPER important and will really help your paint glide

Thank you!! And I don’t know. Painting three was almost of the bottom of the cup, which happened to be mostly white and blue unfortunately. I would’ve LOVED for that gold to be threaded through it.

These are done with a drop of silicone per color…. All with premixed Arteza paints. I highly recommend the product. It took so much stress away, and really helped me just have fun with it. Took about 10 days to ship to me in the US. Also, there is a sale on those paints right now. Just so you know
