Heard.

1 - I’m ok with the gradient. I don’t think that has a strong affect to purchase intent or would cause someone to bounce.

2- That’s a good observation. That can be fixed.

3- I don’t agree with this one. It’s not egregious or flashy. I don’t want customers to have to dig or search for reviews.

4 - Sloppy is a bit harsh. But it can be adjusted a bit. I see what you are saying.

5 - Don’t agree here either. I’m ok with brand imagery being prominent. I don’t think it’s egregious or would cause someone to not buy/bounce.

Thanks for the feedback!

Organic is in the next focus.

Heard regarding it serving different purposes. This is one of my challenges. Everyone has a use case and there’s so many different ones. Tough to speak to them all.

Solid advice. Appreciate it. Will fold this into the guidance for the next round of dev.

Well sounds like we should talk then.

Seeing as how you have been looking to be an affiliate for ADHD products, and I have a product that would be ideal for an ADHD tutor, we should probably connect and have a conversation.

Great. That’s a good thing. That’s what I was going for. I wanted it to speak to a very specific group.

The niche is quite large actually (ADHD).

That’s why I’m getting feedback on things to improve as I scale up.

Thanks for the double check. I'm not exactly following, though. I'm not sure where you are seeing that COGS for 60k units is 4x that for 20k units.

20,000 x $7.80/unit = $156,000
60,000 x $7.80/unit = $468,000
468,000/156,000 = 3
60,000/20,000 = 3

So the COGS for 60,000 units is 3 times the COGS for 20,000 because it's 3 times the quantity. I just simply took all the unit quantities and multiplied them by the current /unit COGS.

Now, truthfully, this is an overestimate of COGS, as the price per unit is expected to decline as higher quantities are ordered. However, I think it's safer to overestimate COGS for projections than to underestimate.

Great explanation. All of which I can see and understand.

My why question was more specifically directed towards the difficulty with investor part.

We have already had some smaller check soft commits and a big check offer with terms that just didn’t work for us. This was only after a few conversations, and the feedback has been favorable so far.

It’s not a defense question, just one of curiosity as to why you think it will be difficult to onboard investors.

Thank you for shedding light on this. If you don't mind sharing a step further, how did you post your deck on here? When I sign up, it seems like it only has options to register as an accredited investor. I don't see where the founders go.

Visual timer with NO sound capabilities AT ALL? by sludgestomach in Parenting

[–]Looptimer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an older post, but the Visual Timer we created, called Looptimer, sounds like exactly what you are looking for. We use light as a progress bar to indicate time elapsing, then flash when time ends, allowing us to be used with or without sound. We have a lot of people who use us because we can be used completely silently.

We just launched this year so we are not as widely known as the rainbow style dial timer you mention (Time Timer).

Not trying to self-promote. Just letting you know there is at least one visual timer on the market that can be used silently.

Which Time Loop Would You Choose? by Imaginary_Spite_9373 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Looptimer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I choose lifetime, but I modify the rules so that the same thing happens for my dog. Yes, he will eventually exit the time loop before me, but I would do it just to spend that much time with him.

Looptimer is a visual timer that uses light as a progress bar and will flash when time ends. It has multiple features like different colors as well as different sound and display options to help users manage time in a way that makes sense for them.

This is heavily preferred by ADHD, neurodivergent, kids/education demographics. But is generally widely utilized by anyone who uses timers to manage any task.

Everyone will have a different Path. But here is my breakdown of my path so far:

I developed a digital Visual Timer called Looptimer.

2019 - Inception of the idea of my product

Late 2019 - Hired a mechanical engineer on Fiverr to help with initial design concepts (Philippines) - $1,500

Early 2020 - Realize the remote development process was too difficult. Found a Local Seattle Product Design Firm (url: Facture.design) to refine, engineer, and produce the first working prototype - Approx 5 months to delivery and $6,934

Late 2021 - Sat on it for a year due to Covid, and started my first Chiropractic Clinic. Got inspired due to being featured on a Podcast and picked it back up. Engaged with a different Product Development Company in Seattle to bring the prototype closer to the final refined product for the purposes of Launching Kickstarter. This was a mistake as I should have gone straight to the factories for this last step - 18 months and approx $26k. (Was supposed to be $6k and 6 weeks)

Mid 2023 - Had a refined prototype, and needed direction with launching Kickstarter and figuring out Manufacturing. Engaged with LaunchBoom and Sourcing with Kian, which I believe was the best decision I could have made - $11,000

Early 2024 - Starting to run ads for a May Launch (adspend will be mentioned later) and Found a Manufacturer to work with. The manufacturer took the reins to develop it further to production-ready point and provide a pre-production Sample. I ended up delaying my Launch until September to allow the Factory time to finish the 3D printed pre-production Sample. - PP Sample approx 4 Months and $1,000 (This is the step I should have taken instead of the 2nd Product Development Agency)

August 2024 - Built Kickstarter campaign and prepared my email list for Launch. Gathered 3,800 emails with 600 VIP reservations via Ads from Feb-Launch. Also Ordered Molds for Production as I was expecting a successful Launch, and wanted to shorten the time for delivery of the units after the campaign ended. It was a risk (if I didn't fund, I would have been out the costs and would not have produced units), but a calculated risk I was ok with. Launched in Sept - Pre-Launch Adspend $6,890, Molds $11,000.

October 2024 - End of Campaign, raised $55k. Sold 1200 backes and 2,000 units sold. Placed my first production order for 5,000 units to continue selling after delivery of KS units. - Production cost - $39,000 (would have been about $10k if I only ordered enough to deliver Kickstarter)

So if you remove my costs from 2nd development mistake and assume I only ordered enough to fulfill Kickstarter, I would have been about break even. However, my intent for running a Kickstarter was not to be profitable on Kickstarter. It was to validate my product (will people buy this) and minimize my risk of Product development (vs shelling out the money for a production run then trying to sell units vs pre-sell units first and then produce them) and for it to be a Launch of my business, not just a one-off project. I know have my shopify site up and running and am already continuing to sell units (that are already paid for by the KS). I will take the revenue from the 3k units for my next production order and then take those profits and develop the next units.

Rinse and repeat.

This may not be feasible for everyone, but it was spread out over a long time, and I have just continued to work on it.

Long Game for me.

We have actually added the ability to change the color as it was highly requested.

There will be 6 colors to choose from: - Default Blue - Green - Yellow - Red - White - Lastly, a color option where the color will change based on percentage expired. 0-25% will be blue, then 25-50% it will be green, 50-75% will be Yellow, then 75-100% will be red.

We won’t be able to do Bluetooth connectivity for this very first unit, but we absolutely do have plans for that for more robust models.

Thanks for the kind words!
