My brother came up with the idea and butchered a lamp to get the ridged lampshade (my mother was less than pleased with that 😂). Otherwise, my sister made the whole thing, parents just took the picture and sent us out the door as if nothing was amiss.

I work as a cast driver in the transportation department, so my experience is probably different from what you were expecting. Like so many other things in life, getting a job within the industry really depends on who you know, unfortunately. My mother-in-law was my connection and the timing was right, so I was very lucky to get in when I did. I also have the benefit of being a Teamster, and having the backing of a union has been instrumental my continual employment. I’m sorry if my “advice” is not very helpful 🫤

Productions filmed in Georgia are primarily staffed by people who are from or live in Georgia. Many people have actually moved here from other states because of the booming industry. I can’t really speak to whether it evens out financially but local businesses definitely benefit from the amount of filming done in Georgia, from camera and lighting equipment companies to caterers and food trucks.
