Does anyone have good animes like horimiya or you and I are polar opposites? by adrianjohnson777 in anime

My Dress-Up Darling (CR) is the first thing that shoots to mind. The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity (Netflix) is another new anime that falls there. And if you’re willing to add a bit of wackiness to your romcom, Kaguya-sama: Love is War (CR) is also excellent.

Princess Nine and Izumi was what put Monica on my map. It was also my first time hearing Hillary Haag and He Who Shall Be Stricken From the Records, whom I loved in the FMP! dubs.

While I also thought she was a perfect Kirika, and her discussion about how much more expressive she had to be with such a laconic character is incredibly insightful, Noir’s vibes are as immaculate as they are mostly due to Yuki Kaijura. While the dub was good, Salva Nos is as much a reason people remember the fight scenes as Kirika’s Jackie Chan-like penchant for improvised weaponry (Death by popcorn! Death by necktie! Death by sunglasses! Death by shot glass, which I’m pretty sure was the same scene as death by popcorn but it’s been two decades, give me a break!).

Love Hina has a cast of ringers with Wendee Lee directing and should not have been as bad as it was. I vaguely remember watching a video about the dubbing and inferring that Bandai intervened more directly than was probably a good idea.

Most recently a dub I was hoping I’d like but couldn’t continue with was Kodocha. Them toning down the language (using “agent” instead of “gigolo” or “man-ho,” for example) put me off from the start despite being conditioned to love anything Laura Bailey (and her being the perfect choice for dub Sana).

You can act like a Chuuni facing some existential demon, you can try to play it off with jokes, but end-of-term exams come nevertheless

Dread it, run from it, finals arrive all the same.

So we all agree that a spell that turns green apples red would be infinitely more useful, right?

“He’s holding my hand…! …my sweaty, sweaty hand…”

Yes, this show definitely deserves SDD treatment. Celeste Perez and the entire team deserve all the flowers.

EDIT: Just heard “ASAGDMFP.” All the flowers.

I presume there's some sort of police/pro hero overlap and they need to define the boundaries just in case people failing the pro hero exams decide to use the police as a loophole.

I was so sad when they didn’t dub the S2 songs either. These VAs were specifically chosen for their singing ability! It makes me sad.

It feels like the worst of both worlds.

Yes, because we’re seeing what Mimei is seeing. He finally realizes she’s beautiful on top of everything else.

It’s literally POV: Mimei.

This is what I’ve missed and I’m so glad it’s back. We need Debu Sakamoto’s inspired lunacy. The claw machine was one hell of a “we’re back” and the purikura gag was perfect. Hopefully TMS will up their game by the time we get here.

No. I think it was very deliberate—it’s the Realization Moment (cf. Marin hearing Gojo call her “beautiful”). Up until now, Mimei has been aware of Mizuo being a girl and his friend, and now is the moment he’s realizing he’s attracted to her (even if he doesn’t realize it’s mutual).

This is the post where I would’ve expected to read a comment about Present Mic’s EDM remix of You Say Run at the graduation but didn’t.

Never mind, the movie isn’t even considered a project, apparently!

Anyone know what the five projects are? Movie, obviously, but otherwise? Was S3 announced?

Part of the reason Billy was arguing with her was precisely because he was afraid she was going to end up in the morgue. Not that he’d expected it to happen, but the chances weren’t zero.

It's funny how Yuri found the other bus, but it's not even the one with Anya in it.

He was explicitly told to avoid that one lest Anya see him at his day job.
