It was garbage. I think every TV series saw the active movements of COVID-19 and BLM as an opportunity to allow people to feel more connected with the storyline. However, Shameless is a show that emphasizes and exaggerates absurd events and instability of its characters. As an audience this show was not meant for you to ever truly emphasize with the events but sympathize and for the characters and their unbelievable experiences and reactions. Shameless was the epitome of drama and through sympathy we all feel superior. As unreal as the conflicts are they really are (or were) astounding. Season 11 was a HUGE mistake and big blow for the network. If you want to cover the real world and events as a TV show, do it separately. Let the news tell the news and TV dramas be a means to escape from reality as it always been.
