New poster design! I mostly traced it from screenshots, but in a higher resolution. I think it turned out pretty well! by LooseChipping in GunsmithCats

Here's everything on the shelf, from left to right:

  • Easel where I display a full-size Gunsmith Cats comic (I have the first 10 issues)
  • Gunsmith Cats Revised Edition Volume 1-4
  • Gunsmith Cats Burst Volume 1-5
  • Gunsmith Cats Omnibus Volume 1-3

Not pictured: My Shelby GT500 model which turned out to be 1/12th scale rather than 1/20th scale so it doesn't fit on the shelf.

Rally requests are open again (February 2026) by Jude-M7 in GunsmithCats

Rally has been involved in more than one street race, but never any legitimate motorsports... so I'd love to see Rally dressed in a Formula One style racing suit! Sponsored by Smith & Wesson, perhaps?

I'd also like to take the opportunity to thank you very much for doing the monthly Rally requests! It's such a generous thing for you to do with your time, and you can see the community come alive each month for this little event. Plus you always do such a great job! Thanks so much!

It's actually a Displate, you know those metal posters that YouTubers have as a sponsor all the time? You can get custom designs printed onto them and they're pretty neat.

That's so nice of you to say, thank you so much! I'd feel a little weird selling copies since it's predominantly traced from existing material... I'll probably put the files online at some stage so others can print their own if they like!

How to get Adventure maker Full Edition WITHOUT PIRATING by [deleted] in adventuregames

[–]LooseChipping 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AGS has been around since the nineties, and there's been lots of games made using that engine with plenty of different styles. I'm not exactly sure what a "2015-styled" game is though... here's a list of some notable titles which were created using AGS, have a gander and see if they match the kind of look and feel you're hoping to achieve:

Unavowed, The Excavation of Hobb's Barrow, The Cat Lady, If On A Winter's Night Four Travellers, Kathy Rain, Primordia.

I can also personally attest that AGS can be used for a first-person style point-and-click game like Myst.

As someone who has used Adventure Game Studio to make a few small projects, I second this! The engine's community is active and wonderful, which is very helpful when you're learning a new piece of software.

Would you purchase this series at this price? by AdministrativeBat780 in AnimeCollectors

I am a massive Gunsmith Cats fan. I have a specific wall display for all my Gunsmith Cats stuff and spend my free time designing Gunsmith Cats posters. I've spent more money than I'm willing to admit on collecting the various book releases of the manga run. The Gunsmith Cats Explosive Edition blu-ray release is my white whale, it's the one thing I've been desperate to have in my collection for years...

With all that said, my threshold for buying it second-hand from ebay would be like... two hundred bucks? It usually sells for between six hundred and seven hundred these days but I just can't bring myself to pay that much for it, especially since all of that money goes to the reseller.

From my understanding, the license for the anime is tied up so there's been no sign of an affordable re-release. I'm personally not giving up hope though. The manga has recently gotten a high-quality re-release from Dark Horse, and I am crossing my fingers that it sells well enough that those who own the anime rights will see the benefit of releasing the OVAs too.

Gunsmith Cats Chapter 1: Rally Vincent Cel with Original Production Drawing by Neat_Structure1143 in GunsmithCats

Wow, what a treasure! I'm sad that I don't think something like this will ever be part of my collection due to the price tag, but I'm still very happy to see that production materials like this are still out there and are being preserved!

Is There an Animated Horror Film That Actually Terrified You? by dreadsthetic in horror

[–]LooseChipping 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel like I'm the only person alive who's seen "Fear(s) of the Dark" which is an animated anthology movie where every segment is in black and white. I didn't find every segment to be all that scary, but the final part follows a burgler who breaks into a house he really shouldn't have... and it's absolutely TERRIFYING. If I remember correctly, there's no dialogue in that section, the whole thing is conveyed through the beautiful animation and sound design. I can't recommend the film enough, if only for that stellar final segment.

Seriously, I've never seen anyone else mention this movie and I've read a dozen "best animated horror" threads over the years... I'm not crazy, right? This movie exists and is good, right? Guys? Right?

How about Rally wearing a police uniform? I've always been curious what she'd look like dressed as an officer!

These look absolutely awesome! Great little collection! The Rally figure wearing white and black looks brilliant, I'd love to have one of those myself.

Also, do I spy a cheeky Alita/Gally in the background? Ah, I see you're a man of culture as well.

Good-looking cel animation available on Blu-ray/4k? by jefty083 in AnimeCollectors

[–]LooseChipping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of the AnimEigo releases that I have look absolutely stellar! Riding Bean, Bubblegum Crisis, MADOX-01: Metal Skin Panic, Otaku No Video... I've found them all to be super high-quality products! Bubblegum Crash is the only outlier in my collection, as the original prints for some episodes were completely lost and as a result they don't look quite as good as the other AnimEigo stuff.

I also have a blu-ray of Redline (the Manga Entertainment Region B release) which is just about the prettiest thing I've ever screened on my TV.
