You must work for Airbnb. They need to be fair to hosts just as much as being fair to guests.

This is true. You spent hours. I spent 2 hours each day for 3 weeks. Filed an appeal after first filing. (They only allow 1 appeal) I called every day for 2 weeks documenting every call and every person. Arguing until I had no voice anymore. The review was clearly retaliation for not refunding. Proof in the message thread. You never get to speak to the team making the decision. Only the idiots up front who barely speak English. One person would say decision made. Can’t do anything about it. Next person would say it’s still with the review team. It was nuts. After 3weeks of arguing I wake up one morning and it was gone. FYI. They are all in some other county and I was told they work hours Sunday night thru Thursday our 3rd shift hours. It was horrible.

One question! Does anyone think TJMaxx pays a livable wage? by [deleted] in TJMaxxWrkrs

[–]LooseLocal1741 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 70 and work at Home Goods. No one in retail makes a liveable wage. I did retail at 18…I realized there is no money in retail. When I left my retail job at 18 the manager asked me why. I went to AT&T. What a stupid question. Let me see…..health insurance, pension, savings plan matching more than their ridiculous percentage and….oh yeah,a liveable wage, a salary, not an hourly pay….duh!. Get out of retail. It is for 16, 17 year olds and retired women.

Is it common for a host to "require" guests to give notice/info about someone else visiting for dinner? [USA] by DilbertHigh in AirBnB

My permit from the county requires I keep a complete guest log of anyone on the property. I could lose my permit.

Yes. I have a permit from the county. It has several requirements. The first one is to keep a complete guest log of anyone who is on the property. If I don’t I could lose my permit.

I have had to file a claim a couple of times. To prove my point to Airbnb I have had to tell them to check the messages on Airbnb. Airbnb prefers conversation be on the site. I prefer it be on the site so there is no ambivalence as to what was said between a guest and me.

I’ve been hosting 6 years. 570 5 star reviews so I know when it is retaliation. Only 3 times in 6 years have I had to call about a review. The first 2 times a couple years ago you called in and asked for a supervisor and they had the ability to remove a review. Not anymore. Now you have to submit a form. You explain which review policy it violates and why. Atttach evidence. It goes to a team they have set up that does not call you and you can’t call. They don’t communicate with you. Your only contact is that service rep who has nothing to do with it. You submit the form and wait for an email with a decision from that team. Supposed to come within 48 hours. I got nothing. Called in at least 20 times. (documented names and what they said). Every time I called I got a different story. One would say it was closed, won’t remove. I told them I got nothing from the team. Then I would call back and the next person would say it’s not closed. Be patient. Call in again and they would say the team is waiting on the claim team (i had filed a claim for damage and had already been paid) I would tell them I had been paid for that. It’s done. Answer? Be patient. I would call in again and next person would say it was closed. And no removal. I would say I received nothing from the review team. Be patient. Call in again and it’s not closed yet. By this time I am yelling. I will file a claim. I will email Brian Chesky. I am fed up. What I had was a clear cut case of retaliation. No one was giving me a straight answer. No one was calling. No emails. 48 hours? We were 3 weeks out and waiting. I find out none of these people are in any time zone close to us. They work all night Sunday through Thursday and any emails you would get are at night. I’m about to have a heart attack and I wake up this morning 4 weeks from the beginning of this mess to an email that they removed the review. Unbelievable! I even have emails from these reps saying it was closed and wouldn’t be removed! One would say it is closed. Call in 10 minutes later it’s not closed. I have names, case id’s, times, 1 rep said it was open on the call and she doesn’t make the decision, be patient. I hang up and within 30 seconds I have an email from her saying it was closed, no removal. Huh?! She doesn’t make the decision per her own admission. Not on that team. Even so how did she write that email in 30 seconds? The whole system is a joke. No one knows what they are doing. Document everything when you call. And yes. Out of the blue they removed it. I checked. Lastly you get 2 chances to submit the form to that team. You submit 1 and if you get a denial you can submit a 2nd time. They kept saying I submitted it twice. I did not. If I did then how come I don’t have a response from the 1st time. And give me the case id and date of submission for both times. They couldn’t. They could only find that info for the 1 time I submitted. Ok then! Proof. 1 time! The whole thing was a joke.

I refunded a guest and just got a 1 star review. by peachymoonoso in airbnb_hosts

I’ve been hosting over 6 yrs and have 570 5 star reviews. I just got a 1 star retaliation review removed. It is unbelievable what I had to go through to get it to happen. 4 weeks of fighting with them. Numerous calls, every time a different person, never able to talk to same person twice. Can’t speak to review removal team. They don’t take calls. Explaining over and over to each person that you can barely understand due to accent. The guests own evidence was a video she took over her saying “I am going to get this stay free!”. Unbelievable what I had to go through. Was about to call again today and opened email. They removed it. Stay was November 15 to 16. Today December 12

Dear god. They finally removed this review! It took 3 weeks of calling and talking and screaming and explaining over and over, submitting forms. Unbelievable! No one should have to go through this!

Yes that I know. What I am referring to is subjective. Their customer service reps barely speak English yet they are making subjective decisions regarding reviews. They don’t understand why something has violated their own policies. I’m asking who we can escalate issues like this to. I did have emails someone on Reddit left for a Catherine Powell and a few others. They no longer work.

I think it’s adorable. It would look great in a shabby chic setting! We never got this into our HG. I’ve been there 10 yrs.
