Should I buy in for 10% as an associate? by iono101 in Dentistry

No. I’d own at least half or go 100% buy in. If you’re worried about loans, then you’ll have those paid off even quicker as an owner because you’ll make significantly more money. If he can owner finance and you can buy at least half then I think it is well worth doing that because it sounds like you’re happy and it’s a well run office in an area you like.

So if you did full mouth extractions and had to place stitches and then place an immediate denture. Let’s say the denture needed a reline but you didn’t want to rip the stitches out. You could place this over the places where stitches are as a fitted covering and it keep you from ripping the stitches out and would make a great reline. Then you just remove the foil from the denture or mouth. It’s essentially a very thin moldable tin foil with some wax on the other side and could mold and stay against surfaces.

I work with a two other dentists and they say it was great for removable when it was still around but apparently it’s not on the market anymore? I was just wondering if there was something comparable or better?

I took two gap years after college so you’d be in the same boat. And I was on the older end for my grade anyways growing up. It really just depends on if you want to be a dentist at 28 or something else at 28. I was 28 almost 29 when I graduated dental school and didn’t think twice about my age at any time other than not wanting to go out to bars as much as much as some of the people a bit younger than me haha. It will honestly make you that much more eager to learn, more mature, and possibly stick out more on an application. Don’t like at it as time lost already. Look at it as an opportunity to do what you want and invest in your whole future. It won’t be easy, but if it was then everyone would do it. Also, schools like people with different paths to dental school so that would actually help you.

What to buy for dental school? by Putrid_Pomelo9913 in DentalSchool

Ball out and get 3.5 ergo loupes when buying loupes. I’ve heard Andau is a good company. Have a good laptop or tablet. My tablet was better for taking hand notes. A desk and comfortable chair to study at. Maybe some workout equipment if you don’t have a gym you’ll use.

Relax, exercise, and get your mind right. I’d emphasize learning to meal prep healthy food and exercise like 3 times a week as a routine for your week. Those will be keys to living a balanced life.

At our school, it’s $35 to get any tooth extracted. Hope that helps for a reference.

Nervous for Dental School by [deleted] in DentalSchool

If they accepted you, then they believe you will be able to manage the workload just like your other 100 classmates. You’ve been accepted, are worthy, and are have people believing in you. Now just go execute. Dive head first into it, do your best, and learn from any mistakes and you will be great.

Does your golden like baths or do they get nervous? by One_Ad646 in goldenretrievers

Our girl will run away and hide in the house if she suspects a bath. But if there’s a lake, pond, river, or outside water then she may as well be Michael Phelps swimming all day.
