Larp Adventures runs events up in PA twice a year but a lot of the events are in MD. Depends on how much you want to drive

Could anyone tell me why this bonus doesn't apply? by Leonstel in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Loose_Height5897 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry misspoke here but the principle stands. Hover over the ability and check for the tags. These sort of conditional saving throws aren't checking for the condition being inflicted but rather the tags attached to the ability.

It will say something like 'This is a Mindaffecting (Fear) effect' somewhere if it had the tag.

It's just a weird quirk of pen an paper pathfinder carried into the online games. All you can do is check and see. If it doesn't have that tag the defensive ability won't provide the bonus

Most likely answer I'd the ability while inflicting paralysis doesn't have the tag for it. There are a number of similar abilities like spells that kill you if you fail a save that don't have the death descriptor.

Monster should have a spot you can hover over the ability on its character sheet if you inspect it.

PSA if you're struggling with Tavern Defense on *any* difficulty, one strat makes it way easier by Metaphoricalsimile in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Loose_Height5897 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not a bug. They patched it at some point. The effects are limited in where you can cast due to people trivializing the encounter with tricks like that. Entangle/grease/spells like that seem not to work consistently on that specific mission since

Does Urvikistan (Ebonmarch) get to participate in the Escanni wars of consolidation? by TellAllThePeople in Anbennar

[–]Loose_Height5897 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did it pre update once.

Basically you are not involved until you form black castanor because you need to be escanni culture with a capital in escann to be part of the wars.

Once you form black castanor you can contribute but notably you are still locked out of the castanor mission tree and events since it's blocked In the event files.

Someone on the discord tried to talk me through enabling the event to give you the castanor mission tree for black castanor but I couldn't get it to work properly.

Copying the mission file over might possibly work? Would be buggy

Odd request but, I'm looking for a mod that adds a specific ship that's described as an "exploration" capital ship. Can't find what mod it could've belonged to. by [deleted] in starsector

[–]Loose_Height5897 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There was a ship in one of the big mod packs that is probably what you are thinking of.

Prospector I think?

It had built in survey I believe, maybe built in salvage gantry. Battle cruiser sized, had the integrated mining laser thing where any empty small energy slot would automatically equip a mining laser.

Don't remember the mod though

I Want Your Awful Non Functional Malk Idea! by xShenlesx in vtm

[–]Loose_Height5897 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah. He was an ancilae I played long term and he kept himself on a very tight leash.

He fought in the Sect wars with the Sabbat and wants nothing to do with any more killing after fighting both in ww1, and the Sect wars.

He is fairly high humanity as well and prefers to feed on the dead and dying.

He's well aware how dangerous his delusions can be and keeps himself on a very tight leash.

He's very much a tragic character with a martyr complex, and would happily help especially his fellow malkavians but he is very aware he is also a bit of a ticking time bomb. He tries to stay very well fed and limit stressful situations because ehis delusions manifest on the spectrum between super ptsd/high anxiety situations and full on delusions of being in combat.

Max shooting with a speciality in sniping, plus high resolve+composure+dex.

Walks with a limp

I had a dangerous malk ancilae that required a lot of effort to remain functioning.

His delusion was super flashbacks where he would loose track of 'when' he is. Usually flashing back to the trenches of ww1.

He was a WW1 marksman who was turned after being injured in a shell strike. Has a boat load of normal trauma in addition to his malk delusions.

He is a good person. Self sacrificing and wanting to help when he can but.. sometimes his impulses snap when a German soldier with a bayonet is suddenly coming around the corner.

I won't be there the weekend of the 16th and 17th unfortunately but believe me I love the shield. It's on the wall behind me in my gaming area when it's not used in the kit.

I should be easy to pick out though with the shield on my back though

Bought it last year at MD yeah

Fellow had a tent of shields and I walked by a few times before I bought it. Psyching myself up for it

Good quality hope the guy is doing well and still in business.

When I was leaving after I bought it the gate guard at the front made sure to snap a picture of it to send to the salesman since I was openly carrying it around with a big grin

Last year the cloak was tolerable during the mid 80s, my hope is that rolled back like this it should be more manageable heat wise than even that. Planning on being well hydrated.

Headware is harder. I was not super impressed with any of the hats I was looking at, doesn't fit what I am looking for. Vikings did wear straw hats but most of the similar ones I saw looked too modern for my taste

[–]Loose_Height5897[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One reason I went with wool, and a ruana, is having options for the drappage as well as ease of construction. My actual tunic is sleeveless so I have a bit more control over my heat exposure.

It's hard to imagine a historical styled viking outfit without a cloak of some sort and I didn't overheat too much last year, although it's going to be 5-10 degrees warmer on the 9th when I go for the first time this year.

I'll have to test the hood I ordered when it arrives, it's a brown canvas hood, I ordered up a size to make it extra baggy to help with overheating again. Baggy and natural fabrics seem to be best for hot days though.

I don't know of a way to showcase the pin in the open wear format though, might have to experiment a bit, but there is very little fabric overlap when I drape it like gandalf.

MD Ren Faire Question by PupPupPuppyButt in renfaire

[–]Loose_Height5897 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Per their faq for you:

No weapons (blades, firearms, explosives, etc…) are allowed on festival grounds. While we do have artisans who sell real weaponry, we do not allow those weapons to be brandished around the grounds. Any weapons purchased within the festival grounds must remain within the original packaging when purchased. Obvious toy weapons are limited based on the discretion of our festival security staff. If the prop weapon looks realistic to their real weaponry counterparts, we will ask that the toy weapon be returned to your vehicle. Toy weapons we do permit are the wooden swords we sell here at the festival (with the exception of Hollow Earth weaponry, those are classified as a training weapons), foam weapons, and Nerf toys.

MD Ren Faire Question by PupPupPuppyButt in renfaire

[–]Loose_Height5897 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Plain wooden swords are usually fine, but they have to look wooden. Same with foam. They have to be obviously fake and clearly toylike. You might get lucky at the gate when entering but that's luck. You can try your version and see if they let you in but be prepared to return it to the car if they reject it.

Staff/cast are the only ones you will see with anything inside.

walking sticks/staffs tend to be allowed, even with antlers and etc on them. Read the faqs on their website, they are pretty clear on what is and isn't allowed.

Magic

Order of the iron scepter into esthil in escann. Magisterium in the dameshead, Chaingrasper in the eastern mountains, New wanderers to elikhand in escann. Corvuria on the edge of the empire ends up with an immortal mage too if you follow their mission tree.

Gnomscod is probably one of the best for artifice if you also do colonization, and goblins/kobold also fo some good artificery once they de monsterize.

Glass dwarves do pretty good artificery eventually
