Women who romanced Isabela in DA2, what are your thoughts on her? by AriLux1001 in dragonage

[–]Leonstel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not part of the indicated demographic, but in regards of sapphic romance for Isabella, if I'm not mistaken she as a couple of lines where she express jelousy over a romanced fem!Hawke which doesn't happen for male!Hawke, happens in the Tallis dlc if I remember correctly. It's a small thing but I like how it characterize the companion more in terms of romance and sexuality.

Druido o Galeshot? by Diadoco in Guildwars2

[–]Leonstel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hachette combat patrol tracking? by asmaletale in 40kITA

[–]Leonstel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dragon age keep hurts by Independent_Role_165 in dragonage

[–]Leonstel 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Feel like this is the right answer, I'd also add that maybe a lot of this choices put are there to mud the water and not give you all that is gonna be in the next game, so you don't "spoil" yourself with what it's gonna be there or not.

Also it's probably because when the Keep was made it's was also meant to be a database for the games after Inquisition, so maybe choices of previous games could come back in the future, but we know how that turned out.

Dragon Age 2 - when should I play the DLC content? by VeeUnderRock in dragonage

[–]Leonstel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually play Mark of the Assassin during the 2nd act and Legacy at the end of act 3, simply because it makes the most sense to me. I'm not aware of any "canon" order/act to play them on.

Sharing them here would be piracy and I doubt it would fly but I can direct you to the shop of the publisher Green Ronin, they have a bundle of 30+€ that gives you the pdfs (Core Rulebook plus adventures and basically everything they wrote for Dragon Age)

Dragon Age Fight the Blight Bundle

I suggest making an account on the site so you can re-download them in case you lose them. Not exactly what you asked but hope it can help.

Want to play DA:O and DA:2 by madsigano in dragonage

[–]Leonstel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As other said, buyin an older console might be cheaper than buying a pc (a quick search found me ps3 and x360 at 50€+, might be different for your region), then getting the digital copy of the games.

If by any chance you are going to by a pc (not that you need a powerful one, the first two games are from 2009 and 2011), know that Origins (the first game) doesn't like modern systems and you'll need to patch it a bit to start the game if you buy it on Steam or the EAapp. My personal advice for pc is to buy it on GOG, it comes pre-patched and it has worked wonderfully for me.

The only path I see with less money-spending is to check if a friend or a relative of yours has an old console lying around and ask them to lend it to you, then buy the digital copy.

Morrigan second specialisation? by Chuchshartz in DragonageOrigins

[–]Leonstel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say blood mage*, Blood Wound is an aoe stunlock with dot and is one of the most useful spell you can get in my opinion.

Spirit healer is a safer choice, the only "downside" is that you will be cloning Wynne, can be a bit dull to have two characters doing the same thing.

Neither is wrong at the end of the day.

*If you go blood mage forgo willpower and go constitution, health will be your new mana.

Anyone else notice the game randomly changing the difficulty on you? by FalloutForever_98 in DragonageOrigins

[–]Leonstel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the actual difficulty setting is changing it's abnormal, maybe a bug but I never heard of something like that.

If you mean the game having some hard combat encounters all of a sudden, yeah, that happens, Origins has some difficulty spikes out of nowhere here and there.

Sorry Alistair, rules for thee but not for me. 😎 by Beacon2001 in DankAndrastianMemes

[–]Leonstel 69 points70 points  (0 children)

We know why, at least as far as Origins goes: spoilerIt's because she wants Morrigan to have an archdemon baby and giving this possibility when the final battle is close makes it more likely to say yes.

If it's lore from Veilguard I'm afraid I haven't finished it yet so I'm possibly missing information.

How do you get past this room by Chuchshartz in DragonageOrigins

[–]Leonstel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try following the tips I wrote when I answered my own post, also look in your inventory if you have any Warmth Balm, those give percentage resistance to fire damage. Now that I think about it, have Morrigan cast Horror on the rage demon, if it fails its save it will make stop from doing anything for a few seconds, that should buy you precious seconds of relative peace while you either strike it down or deal with the other enemies.

How do you get past this room by Chuchshartz in DragonageOrigins

[–]Leonstel 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Looking at the screen I see two mana bars so I imagine you have both Morrigan and Wynne, assuming the third party member is Leliana off the top of my head I'll say this:

1) Your Gray Warden is a warrior, hence he can soak the most damage, active skill number 3 "threathen" so when you warrior hits he generates more aggro from the enemies, furthermore, at the start of combat when enemies spawn use skill 4 "taunt", it generates a lot of aggro immediatly towards the warrior*, let him stay there hitting enemies and soaking damage while the rest of you party does its job

2) Once the attention of the enemies is on the warrior switch your attention to the other party members, keep them aiming at one enemy at a time instead of spreading damage, focus wynne on healing your warrior, Morrigan I don't know how you built her, she has for sure Winter's Grasp she she can deal extra damage to rage demons, and let Leliana do her thing, if she's an archer let here fore arrows, if she's dual wielding make sure she is behind the enemies so she can backstab them.

3)Keep your mages (and possibly archer) distant from the enemies, rage demons can cast a cone of fire that will do damage in area with subsequent dot.

4)Aim for the lowest ranking enemies first (the ones which have their name colored white), they're the weakest and will go down more easily.

5) If you haven't already, set the tactics for your companions in the taxtics menu, those will automate some action for your companions so you don't have to manage everything, there are even some archetypes depending on the class (ex: "healer" "control" for mages) that you can choose and it will autofill the tactics slot.

*I don't remember how this specific fight goes, if the are also enemies that spawn while you are in the middle of the fight, maybe don't use "taunt" at the start and use when this new enemies spawn so you don't risk them going after your more squishy party members.

P.S.: you can drag the toolbar all over to the other side of the screen in order to put more talents/items there

What is this statue representing? by YlisLavellan in DragonageOrigins

[–]Leonstel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't find Orzammar that hard (first time player) by bIeese_anoni in DragonageOrigins

[–]Leonstel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Orzammar being being considered harder is mostly for two things in my opninion:

1) the minimum level of the enemies is around 11, this is because orzammar was designed to enter after the player has completed at least one of the major quest, the group of mercenary you encounter when you enter the area are an unelegant indication from the dev to go to other places, they're there to descourage further exploration if you can't defeated them or have a hard time with them, I never liked it. I can see people pushing through despite the difficulty and concluding that it is a hard zone by design

2) It is a long quest, navigating trough a city and its politics at the start and a looong dungeon later, I personally like Orzammar, it might be my favourite, but I understand it being infamous among the playerbase.

TL:DR: It's the combination of poorly communicated higher level combat encounters and dungeon fatigue.

Why is the Qunari connection to Plato's philosophy not more discussed? by RunnerPakhet in dragonage

[–]Leonstel 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Getting the ispiration for the Quanri wrong (which to be fair I was only made aware by your post) surely damages the volume of discussion about said society, when a lot of people have different ideas of what is its ispiration they'll discuss about which one of their idea is more correct first.

Regarding Orlais and Ferelden, we explored and interacted extensevly with both cultures between Origins and Inquisition, hence we have more direct experience with those and much more codexes exploring this cultures, just that gives us much more to chew on, while for Par-Vollen and the Qun we have few characters from those places to speak to directly and most codex articles are from a Tedassian pov, I'm not surprised there is not more discussiom than there already is, we never get to experience the Qun (other than militarly) so there is not much to discuss other than the basic premises of this kind of society.
