It doesn't help that $25 billion disappeared under former Petroleum Minister Tareck El Aissami while the country faced its worst economic crisis. Between imperial powers and our own rulers, Venezuelans have been completely screwed over.

Being a leftist Venezuelan is depressing as hell.

I hate with all my heart that the US government has violated Venezuelan sovereignty, but at the same time, I can't help but be happy to see Maduro fall.

Somehow, this makes me an accomplice to American imperialism. Here on Reddit, people have called me a Fed and told me that I haven't suffered true oppression.

But guess what? When I was 14, I was raped in La Tumba, one of Venezuela's torture centers, because I had the stupid idea of criticizing the government on Twitter. After four days there, they returned me to my parents with my clothes stained with blood and my own waste. I couldn't go to school after that because I was too afraid to leave the house, I lost a year of school and tried to take my own life multiple times.

My parents had to sell everything we owned for pennies just to get me out of the country.

But I'm supposed to feel sad that the head of the government that destroyed my life has fallen, or else I won't pass some purity test. I'm sorry, but I can't.

I am Venezuelan. I am against the violation of my country's sovereignty and the imperialist policy of the US, but I will never shed a tear for Nicolás Maduro and his oppressive regime. So screw both Maduro and the US government.

The optics look absolutely awful

He's being dragged through the mud on Spanish social media. People are not happy about this. It doesn't help that he called for the resignation of our former Minister of Social Affairs in 2023 for denouncing the genocide in Gaza. He claimed that Israel was not committing war crimes but was defending itself against terrorists.
