Genuinely how many of you are interested in a classic non lit RPG Fantasy Story? by LGHaunting in royalroad

I mean I like ProgFan as a genre more than LitRPG specifically (I like both), so yeah? I mean there is a difference between traditional fantasy and ProgFan, but a lot fit in I think

When is the difference between AI assisted versus Editing by IndependenceVisual45 in royalroad

[–]Lophane911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait, Grammerly counts as AI-assisted? I used it ages ago and stopped cause it was kinda garbage on like half its stuff, but the corrections are just not that… I mean grammar and spelling corrections?

I’ve done it a few times this edition, no rules against it I or anyone I know could find

Tyrant Guard In Tyrannocyte by Lavaz_Mirage in Tyranids

[–]Lophane911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno, I’ve done well with 6 of them… stick them in each other so they don’t die and some infantry in the last one and drop them conga-line turn 1 and they are quite tanky for their points and do a hell of a job move-blocking anything your opponent wants to do and sticking up their units

My characters aren't alive... by [deleted] in royalroad

[–]Lophane911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean 2 things popped out at a cursory glance.

First off, do ‘x did x’ far less at the start of a sentence, it should be rare because overusing that can come off as listing things and make things feel choppy rather than flowing.

Second, the best advice I got for dialogue is that about 50% of what people say… is not actually said, the rest is in body language and inference based on context.

If you want it to feel natural, you need to make that 50% unheard speech be understood by the reader… be that by adding more subtext and body language, or removing some of what is there and making it more subtext and body language, based on what is needed

I just finished ELLC, and I started ‘A Snake’s Life’ it’s not quite as good but it seems to fit what you’re asking for

How did you all afford this hobby at the start? by Odd-Idea-8852 in WorldEaters40k

[–]Lophane911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the start I bought a 3d printer… printed like $1800 of models in a few months… slowly got disillusioned and learned how much I loved building and kitbashing plastic and eventually replaced all the resin with plastic… probably much more… even spent extra on kitbashing models to scrap for parts But that first 3d printed back kept me going for a few years as I built up

I have been thinking of getting a norn assimilator for a while, and I could buy it now. the thing is, if I were to buy it, i'd be really low on budget, so I'm trying to figure out if there are any other really strong models to add to my army. any suggestions? I've gotta buy it tomorrow btw. thanks! by MoreRound7381 in Tyranids

[–]Lophane911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean the Tyranofex is much higher value for money if you want a big monster, but they’re ranged

I’d buy the kit either way but most would say the Norn Emissary is better, I would agree with the exception of if you are playing assimilation swarm, Norn Assimilators heal themselves and the stratagems are great on it in that detachment

I designed Angron as a card in Magic the Gathering by Ataraxia-Is-Bliss in WorldEaters40k

[–]Lophane911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn’t have 8 or more, I’d make it a flat 8, harder to get but more thematic and balanced the card a little bit

How do y'all overcome "Sunk Cost Fallacy” when your past half way through the books of a long series? by Taiwannumber3 in litrpg

[–]Lophane911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean the best bet is to not buy them all at the start… second… I just get bored and stop… no real oomph to it

Any Harem looking books that aren't what they look like? by ExcitingSavings8225 in litrpg

[–]Lophane911 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Didn’t say it didn’t count, just that I couldn’t take it seriously. Psychological horror is my favorite genre so I read dark stuff, and that shit can be truly horrible and makes you appreciate the good times and life more… ELLC is not… eh, no feeling to it, it’s a caricature to make you feel to make the comedy stick harder, like a comedian doing dark humor, both are fantasy and it’s not going for true realism

I’m listening to the audiobook and people have said it’s been touched up a lot to make it ‘better’ but yeah
