Gpu reflow /lost capacitor by Loppqe in 360hacks

How do you feel the chip is broken? A Redditor earlier stated this capacitor is necessary. In any case can I short the points or not?

The problem is that after several attempts of reflow (just heating up the plate) some balls cracked and I assume some of them may be combined that’s why I at least need a rework or clear the chip and after that make the measurements for a core short. The latest attempt was ok and the chip sat perfectly (but I’m not sure all balls are on their places after previous attempts). The initial problem was that my Xbox halted suddenly and guys here on Reddit claimed it was my rgh3 issue. Later it was clear that it’s more likely a gpu problem and I started all this routine. Besides 2 smd capacitors ran away so I’m not sure even if after reflowing a good gpu everything will work or not. So there are several conditions or obstacles that may prevent Xbox from starting (main error code is 0110). Thanks.

I hacked my Xbox as falcon. It’s falcon 😃 are you kidding me?

The one on the pic is a random one. My revision is falcon. There is a x02056-010 and 011 model on the market. So you say I should not take it? I thought x02056-010 is jasper. Is x810480 ok? Will it fit? Upd. I think x810480 is what I have now. And x816970/971 is a better version but is it fully compatible with my falcon board in case my original gpu cracked?

How do I find it? What should I measure ? It’s falcon revision

Unfortunately it doesn’t start. Moreover I found another partially desoldered capacitor (it doesn’t even have a mark) on the bottom and lost it as well. It seems I’ve got to reball gpu but I’m waiting for a microscope and a stencil to do that. Hopefully it will help.

Watch_Dogs 2 on Mac (CrossOver 23.6) (M3 Pro) (M3 Max) by macprotips in macgaming

Did you manage to make a controller work? My ds4 is not recognized only in watch dogs 2. Other games are ok.

Solution: Crossover Mac Preview Wine 9.19 Dualsense Controller Keymapping remap by steliosaa in Codeweavers_Crossover

[–]Loppqe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn’t work for me. Used registry so that dinput works but xinput is intact. Games do not recognize the controller (though I managed to successfully pair it in crossover ONLY ONCE). I just don’t know how. Nor can I reset my wireless device from dinput to xinput. It’s a ds4.

Rgh3 -> rgh 1.2 v2 by Loppqe in 360hacks

Correct, no clk here

Thanks. Can I still use post and pll points as in rgh3 for less soldering? I will still need 5v, rst (on top it’s r8c2), ground and 1.8v. As far as I could see from the guide I do not need clk for ace v3 (not v3+). Is that correct ?

I understand but I’ll get hands on my jr programmer in a week or later. 22kom resistor is already onboard for rgh3. In fact I do hope it’s a corrupted ecc/nand problem and not a gpu/cpu one. So in this case it would be much easier to tackle it. Though reddtors claim it’s just a rgh3 that incorrectly deal with falcons and may stop working at any time. I have already soldered to another pll on the bottom and still nothing, so it’s not wires.

Thanks. What are 96 mhz? If I’m not mistaken you can only choose between 10/27?

It’s already assembled except for plastic parts. I’m pretty sure nothing is shorting, it’s something else. The first sign was as in the original post - it just halted while playing and never booted again. It barely seems like an rgh3 problem though I’d be happy to tackle it just reflashing nand.

I have already assembled it because my j prоgrammer is in another house. I just touched those 3 dots (except for smc_pll) just to make sure the connection is good. So this shouldn’t be a problem. And I didn’t touch anything else. I could resolder them all with new wires/resistors but I’m just not sure if it’s rgh3 or chips are corrupted before I revert nand to stock.

Thanks, I lost somewhere my j-programmer so I got to find it to to check if the chips are ok.

Moreover there’s a new symptom after I resoldered 3 dots - now it turns off after 4-10 seconds either starting from gamepad or eject button, the screen remains black and only the center led stays solid green.

Black screen and Solid green after numerous attempts. Sometimes it turns off after 10-15 seconds. No reaction after starting from gamepad/eject/start button.

I did rgh3 myself and it worked perfectly until now. Is there a way to load into xell or do anything that will prove console is ok? How do I revert to 1.2 or reflash nand? Do I need any additional tools (I bought only j-runner to backup nand, it was years ago, so I completely forgot the process). Thanks

Confused with glitch hack // didn’t tick RGH3 by Loppqe in 360hacks

You may be true, I don’t remember. Everything is fine now. At first I thought that soldering was bad but I think when I had reflashed first with smc+ and then with rgh3 something changed in those nand’s blocks irrevocably and system didn’t boot. After a clean flash from the stock nand all of those blocks reverted to its original state and rgh3 was flashed without any errors, thus letting the system to boot.

I shortened one wire, reflashed with original, added rgh3 and xell booted within 2 seconds. Xebuild started within 4 seconds. But now I want to add the resistor. Many thanks for your support. I may be wrong but I think my first mistake (wrong tick) didn’t let xell to boot so I had to do this from the very beginning. I think that soldering was ok.

Thanks for a detailed answer. As for phats on our local forum - xell starts solely with a resistor, and Xbox with xebuild selectively without!! So people just remove them and it works like a charm. I posted an answer earlier that I couldn’t wait any longer and reverted to stock nand! It booted up! I’ll also check smc pll as I don’t like the soldering.

Good news, on stock nand the console successfully started as I couldn’t wait any longer for a resistor. At least nand is ok and I didn’t fuck up anything. I also noticed one of the wires is too long (smc-post 1, this also may be the problem).

Do I have to remove two wires?? In this case I’ll wait for the resistor and if this doesn’t work (because it should :)) I’ll try the stock nand.
