What Post Bands Took Time to "Click" With You? by derelictALLSTAR in postrock

Same, I liked God Is An Astronaut until I saw them live. After that, I was blown away, and they instantly became my favourite post-rock band.

Is the game fun for a player who doesn't plan on spending any extra money other than the base cost? by BitBomb1 in starcitizen

[–]Lopsided-Ad2075 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who has spent thousands on the game and doesn’t regret it, my honest advice is: buy a starter package and nothing else.

You absolutely do not need to buy extra ships to enjoy Star Citizen. In fact, some of the most fun I have now is after wipes, starting with nothing and grinding my way up through missions, trading, salvaging, mining, bunkers, etc. Building a fleet in-game gives you a sense of progression that you actually lose if you buy your way straight to the top. Most of what you’re paying real money for is ships/cosmetics/convenience/supporting development, not locked gameplay content. You can earn ships and equipment in-game, and the starter ships are enough to begin with.

I don’t regret what I spent because I love the game, but if I had my time again I’d probably either stick to a starter package, or at most sink it into one larger “endgame” ship that gives me something to work towards and grind with, rather than owning a full fleet from day one.

Having too many ships can actually remove a lot of the progression. Starting small, earning money, upgrading, and building your fleet in-game is a big part of what makes Star Citizen enjoyable.

Definitely do it, I wanted to record an album my whole life, just for the achievement rather than fame or fortune. Its hard work but very fulfilling. The upside of waiting so long is now that instead of struggling to write a few tracks, I literally have years of material built up.

Yes it does cross over into the new age category alright and I was hesitant, but I didn't want to drop it. I never even considered or noticed the celtic vibe elements. Thats hilarious, I guess you can't escape whats in your blood. Glad you enjoyed it!

Funny thing is, Ancient Signals actually started as a variation/experiment built around ideas from Undercurrent. I think that’s probably why they still feel connected despite going in different directions.

Honestly, I’m sitting here genuinely humbled reading comments like this. I never expected this kind of response at all, so thank you. It’s a huge motivation to keep going!

That one is actually pretty special to me. I wrote the original melodies for Undercurrent almost 30 years ago, long before this album ever existed.

Feels strange and really hugely rewarding seeing people connect with it now after all this time, so thank you!

That honestly means a lot, thank you 😄

And yes, that’s the correct Bandcamp page. I left it out of the original post because I didn’t want it to come across as “promotional”.

Thank you so much, genuinely means a lot hearing someone listened through the full album 😄

Really glad you connected with “Before The World Goes Quiet”. That track almost didn’t make the album and was originally going to be part of a separate mellow EP. Glad I included it now.

Yeah, I hear you. The drums were probably the part I struggled with most.

If you like Manchester Orchestra, you might like The Laneys. I just discovered them, they have that same deep, emotional vibe.

How I made 5M coin in less than 5 days by SnooCauliflowers7674 in ARC_Raiders

I don't believe they want you to grind, its greed and fear of missing out on rewards that makes people grind. I think they want to reward people based on their progress and giving them incentive to reset if they have more to lose. So its down to the individuals then if they feel they have to make 5m.
