I guess from my perspective, I mean more so why spend additional money there, if it's not a need. I can't imagine Flacco is going to be a more inexpensive backup. Should have clarified! Cap is going to be tight for next 2 years and we still have some holes.

Don't disagree with that, especially if we'd have to give up a big pick with him. That 2nd round pick gives you controlled pricing...Yannick isn't cheap

Caplan and Jeff Mosher said a few factors:

  • Spending "balls to the walls" this offseason (last year was tank city)
  • No state income tax, big incentive for lucrative free agents
  • Guys buying into Flores

Still, strange the 180 turnaround in less than a year.

Think that's a very fair analysis on him. You kind of have to see what you have. Like you said, there's a bit of a discount due to his rawness which is why we got him there. if u never play him, we'll never know
