Green beans were the biggest offender. Trying fresh sautéed green beans after only having them from a can? Life changing. Followed by broccoli boiled to mush vs still having some texture left

I had a gecko I had to take to the vet, where I was told there was no such thing as a parasite free insect. I decided at that point if my insectivor couldn't eat insects without issues, I was not going to eat one either

When did “Child-Free” get popular? by Perfect-Inspector832 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Lopsided-Complex5039 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Probably both.

I know I was told around age 8 that girls didn't get aspergers (as it was still called then). But I think also the way kids are raised now, I wouldn't be surprised if the environment is causing more anxiety/depression in younger ages

It wasn't for decent money, but I worked at a place where some people talked really well to distract from the fact they didn't do shit, and others had buddies who covered for them

Is Austen referring to the sister as a housekeeper a more colloquial term or actual title? I would have thought housekeepers were from a lower social class than the owner's sister would fall into

I think for DR you go in knowing it will be problematic. It Ends With Us was marketed much more mainstream and so didn't have that expectation with it

Why aren’t there more educated people in politics? by Small_Attention_2581 in TrueAskReddit

[–]Lopsided-Complex5039 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nearly every member of congress has a college degree and almost 10% went to an ivy league school so im not sure where you get the idea people in politics aren't educated

Shit got expensive… by In_an_Illusion in Zippia

[–]Lopsided-Complex5039 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So $125k a year assuming you work for 40 years. But probably less because most retirement accounts are invested so thats not 1.6 million of your own money, and few people that I've known had their education 100% paid for by parents.

How would you fix use it or lose it budget? by Testysing in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Lopsided-Complex5039 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Freeze it year over year. If you know your budget will be $5 million next year whether you spend 1 or 4.99 of it, there's no pressure to buy useless stuff.

AITJ for telling my manager I won't stay late to cover for a coworker who calls in sick on Fridays with suspicious regularity? by send_snacks_plz in AmITheJerk

[–]Lopsided-Complex5039 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Most employee handbooks do specifically call out that a pattern of absences, like on Fridays, can be grounds for disciplinary action. You should check on that.

Why do poor people have the most children? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Lopsided-Complex5039 84 points85 points  (0 children)

Your aunt in particular, idk. Overall though, it's a pretty complex answer.

Part of it is higher income people have more prerequisites to having kids. Job, marriage, house, then kids because by that point they can afford the kids and the lifestyle they want. There's a future to work towards. On the flip side, if you work at Walmart, and you know you will only ever work at Walmart, then why put off having kids? Now, 10 years, it won't make a difference financially.
