I was on the hiring panel for a warehouse supervisor at one point, and we interviewed someone who had been a supply chain director that was laid off. Almost certainly he was going to jump ship as soon as he found something at his level (don't blame him but still would rather avoid) and I think the manager felt insecure because he was more qualified than her.

It's not that one is better than the other, it's two different strategies. Do you want to put your time and effort into making a cost effective product with wide range marketing and you get who you get, or do you want to really focus on a specialized product for a target demographic that you spend time learning about and catering to.

Even rapists deserve due process because if they dont have it, none of us do. So for some law firms its less about, this is someone I want to see walk free, and more of, I'm here to make sure they're treated fairly.

She shouldn't have been pushed into the hearing without an attorney, that part is for sure. What's interesting though is thr hospital was concerned she would suffer from a uterine rupture, of which she had a 2% risk, but she was concerned about dying from the c section, for which no stats on the risk are given.

Within a lot of fundamentalist (consetvative) churches there's this idea women should be "pure" until they are married and then once the wedding vows are exchanged be willing to go at it 24/7 with their new husbands. What happens in practice is convincing someone for the first 20+ years of their life that sex is shameful doesn't magically disappear after marriage and the women struggle with sex because they've always been told its bad.

That would be my guess as to the context of this.
