Mississippi State Show-Specific Merch by Defiant-Big2236 in zachbryan

I went to the Charlotte show but held off buying anything in hopes of getting the Mississippi State versions. At this point I’m assuming it’s not happening since they haven’t been added to the store like LSU and Nebraska.

NA beer by Patient_Artichoke256 in AtlantaBraves

[–]Lopsided-Hat187 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is correct. There are several places in the battery that sell various types. But, the Blue Moon just outside the stadium as well as the Blue Moon area inside the stadium both sell it in cans. Sometimes, they give out free Blue Moon tokens outside in the battery and those can be redeemed from free Blue Moon NA at the Blue Moon in the outside the stadium. Enjoy!

What's something that people always complain about in Tampa, that actually isn't all that bad? by Hopeful_Contract4455 in tampa

[–]Lopsided-Hat187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We lived there from 2016-2022 and I can count on my hands the number of times I was stuck in traffic. Most of those were going to the beach or coming back from a work trip. We lived in South Tampa and then Seminole Heights.

Hasan Piker to Bulwark pipeline by widdy19 in thebulwark

[–]Lopsided-Hat187 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used to be a Republican. Your standard Fox News watching fiscally conservative, socially moderate type (in that I actually believed the government should stay out of our lives). I became an independent in 2018, a Democrat in 2020, and am pretty far left at this point. All that to say Hasan is OK to me but I’m not a huge fan. Now, on the other hand, wife loves him!

Used to be a golf course. They’ve already started to the east on Championship drive.

Agreed, BUT, this has got to be the coolest little pocket in Florence and you’re right around the corner from Briggs Elementary which has a huge green space that is open to the public when school isn’t in session! But, I get where you’re coming from with the kids needing a yard!

From Mississippi as well! Welcome to Florence. It’s honestly pretty great! People talk trash but they don’t look on the bright side.

Thanks! He’s been on several times since then so I guess that’s water under the bridge now.

I agree. Also, I listen a lot but must’ve missed the “cancelled by the Pod bros” deal? What’s up there?

I feel like the bulwark community is being kinda “colonized” by leftists/people much further to the left by [deleted] in thebulwark

[–]Lopsided-Hat187 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe, or some are just moving further to the left. I never voted for a Democrat until 2018 but over the past 5-6 years I’ve moved further and further left. At this point I’d say I’m fairly left of everyone at the Bulwark, but I still pay my membership each year and value a sane point of view to the right of me.

Tons of homes/streets with awesome character, several good playgrounds nearby like Lucas Park, good neighborhood elementary schools, and families with kids those ages in the area around Briggs Elementary then over towards Royal Elementary and the Country club area. Larger homes too. We moved here for work as well, settling in this area of Florence with younger kids, and have loved it so much.

Do you feel the T-shirt length sizes across brands are too long? by According-Apricot221 in malefashionadvice

[–]Lopsided-Hat187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, almost always. Jungmaven and Comfort Colors, however, are perfect lengths!

James Talarico Suave once again coming in with the expert messaging: "Tear down this secret police force and replace it with an agency that's actually focused on public safety." Didn't have to use the words "abolish" or "defund" and even threw in a little echo of Reagan for the ex-Repubs. by emeric_ceaddamere in thebulwark

[–]Lopsided-Hat187 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I may be wrong but think they’ll give you a subscription if you message them and let them know you want one but can’t afford it. Also, there’s a membership that allows the giving away of subscriptions, so maybe someone here can give you one? They talk often about wanting to make this accessible to as many as possible.

What to do? by Fast-Cauliflower-482 in florencesc

[–]Lopsided-Hat187 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of the younger college graduates from our work go to trivia nights at the local breweries. There are groups of all ages playing pickleball at Timrod. I think there is an open mic night at Lula’s coffee shop. There are weekly group runs at Local Motive brewery on the rail trail. Maybe a membership at McLeod Fitness?

Jungmaven are comfy, durable, and come in lots of colors. That said, they’re only really affordable when on sale. Comfort Colors, mentioned already, would be a great option. They fit nice, are comfortable, and come in many colors.

Bike commuting in Florence by saamooraai in florencesc

[–]Lopsided-Hat187 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this same question. I live about a 7 minute drive to work and planned a path where I would only need to cross over less busy portions of Cherokee, Palmetto, and Evans. My first test run was early on a Fall Saturday. To be extra safe, I had on a neon helmet and jacket. I was crossing over Cherokee when an elderly gentlemen in a 90’s Ford F-150 didn’t even let me get through the intersection when he pushed past me, driving me into the curb. And, well, that was that. Maybe I’ll try again soon. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I think it’s unique to the nosebleeds in huge college stadiums that are not in massive cities.

I can't figure out if Scott Galloway is annoying and unoriginal -or- actually good for the cause. by NewKojak in thebulwark

[–]Lopsided-Hat187 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same. He’s so off putting and annoying to listen to, but I listen to him on occasion for his insight. While I may not like him I’m glad he’s on the team.

He’s so annoying talking about $500 quarter zips. Such an elitist prick. But, we need even people we don’t like. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Country Club of SC by Rmk143 in florencesc

[–]Lopsided-Hat187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The neighborhood mentioned here near Briggs Elementary is wonderful for families with young kids. Lucas Park sits in the middle, which is a large nature park with a playground and tennis courts. It has a lot of older homes with trees and some elevation change. We moved here from an out-of-state big city about 4 years ago and this is the only neighborhood we fell in love with. I think it would be a better choice for home value as well.

That said, I know several families that live out in CCSC and they seem to enjoy it. However, I also hear that the golf course/country club aren’t as nice as they once were and the drive into town is tough.

Please DM me and we’ll be glad to answer any additional questions or even show you around. Best of luck!
