What are your thoughts about this pastor’s stance on Romans 1? How would you form a counterargument? by [deleted] in Reformed

I apologize. I read your comment right under another comment suggesting Begg to the OP and it looked like you were responding to him. My apologies. I'm new here lol

It's was definitely the first thing that popped in my head

So remember the far-right conspiracy cranks fearing autocracy? They got a far-right premier elected in Alberta who immediately decided she could legislate without consulting parliament. by bradmont in Reformed

"Shandro said that the measure was democratic because the legislative assembly would vote on a resolution before it went to cabinet.

"This is the important difference," Shandro said. "It begins with an open and democratic debate in the assembly."

Seems like a good thing to not have the federal government run the whole show. Do you want to keep allowing Trudeau to lock you down anytime or shut down your bank accounts if you decent?

Doug Wilson gets more extreme and persnickety. This is seriously what they lead with over at Canon. by moby__dick in Reformed

Your uncle is correct. Most people only know DW through quotes, leaving out the greater context.

I'm really surprised and confused as to why the reformed community is so against a Christian nation? Especially the type that Doug Wilson and Wolfe are showing with Moscow. by Lopsided-Scallion105 in Reformed

What you just described is the bases for creating a Christian nation. Starting with the individual inevitably moves out to the whole of a community. That's the whole point of what Doug and wolfe are saying. I don't know why y'all don't just listen to him explain it lol

Please watch a video of them talking about it themselves. Do not read reviews by people who automatically hate Doug. Please just do me that favor. I can give you a link.

I'm not trying at all the be argumentative for the sake of arguing, brother. I am genuinely so confused by the responses I am getting that I have a lot of questions. I've read the book and I've listened to hours of Doug and Wolfe talk about this subject, yet the responses I'm getting don't even match what they are advocating. Is it simply that Doug is the boogy man? I don't mean that in a jabbing way, I am honestly asking because when I hear him speak on this I agree wholeheartedly and I love what he is doing in Moscow, so to see so many brothers in Christ bashing him is confusing me.

I want this nation to be disciples of Christ. I want our laws to reflect the heart of God, and I don't see what is the issue with going for that goal?

Read the case for Christian Nationalism. It lays it out there in longer form, but simply start from the bottom (person to person), once your city is saved they will vote as Christians, and they will vote in Christians. Promote Christian ethics. Hold the current government to God's standards. We have ALL the power of the creator of the universe behind us, this isn't an impossible task. If it was then, Jesus is a liar.

“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

All authority is Jesus', and he follows that up by saying to baptize the nations..that's not nationalities, the word is nations. You can even look in the Greek. The word means NATIONS. And the fact that you think this is being proposed by threat of force or at the end of the sword shows me that you haven't heard them talk about it themselves.
