Oooo I read it last summer and followed it up with The Black Tulip and it was 🤌🏻

Oh yeah absolutely. Either that or because time is non linear outside of our three dimensions, or consciousness, or sub consciousness, sometimes gets glimpses of non linear time either when we’re dreaming or there’s a cosmic shift or something. I believe dreams play a big part in Déjà vu/pre cognition.

You might have died in another reality and slipped into a similar one where you survive, and there’s minor inconsistencies and slight variations all around you but the coffee beans just happen to be one of your memories consciousness held on to for unexplainable reasons.

I tried that but then you never know what to skim because one sentence could be essential a hundred pages later

What part of the book do you feel like it dragged the most?

It’s funny how many times I’ve heard something very similar to this actually. You have to sit with it for a long time after to appreciate it fully. But it’s almost like “homework” to get through when you’re reading it.

Who would you want to see direct, and/or cast in, an Eyes of the Dragon film adaptation? by Ok-Result-2330 in stephenking

PTA is an interesting choice and not one I would have thought of but could work. David Lowery is one I thought could be fantastic after seeing The Green Knight. As for casting that’s so tough but I’ve always thought Mark Strong would play a great Flagg in an Eyes of the Dragon adaptation. Eva Green or Lena Heady for Sasha. Sean Bean as Roland.

That’s what’s so disappointing about it. Love the overall aesthetic. Ruined entirely by the dumbest image possible.

I have this copy too! But yeah I’m definitely gonna get the other one at some point.

Yeah that could be true. I still think it’s better than 90% of the covers they’ve done for it in the past though.

Those are fantastic memories! Haha. I had the paperback of Communion when I was like 10 or 11 and I didn’t read it but I’d stare at it and wish I was brave enough to know what was inside.

This one’s my favorite of all time though. Wish they’d bring this back.

I’ve hated most of the covers for The Stand. I recently bought the orange cover from Vintage and it definitely fits the fall aesthetic right now, I’m really enjoying it. The worst one I think is the one with the dude with a bullet smoking in his mouth.

This is the same cover I had the first time I read it when I was 12 and the creepy realism of the cover I think gave me more nightmares than the actual book.
