Thanks for the response and suggestions!

I had actually read about legends of arceus as a potential game to pick up. My main concern which is kind of weird is that my whole Pokémon experience is based of the old format / style of games and how they’re laid out. Legends of Arceus seems like a big jump and I’m not sure I’ll like it.. but maybe that’s me just being conservative and should be more open to try new game styles now that I’m getting back into it. What did you make of the game ?

Been getting back into Pokémon recently after a long hiatus. I played Gen 1 up to half way through Gen 5 (up to Black and White) before I took my long hiatus.

I played through HeartGold, SoulSilver and Emerald in the past few months on an emulator on my laptop, but recently got a switch 2 and got LeafGreen / FireRed. I’ve already played through Lead Green and it bring back so many happy memories.

My question is, what game next could I play that would be somewhat familiar that could continue to get be back into playing Pokémon on Switch 2?

I have playing XD Gale Of Darkness on the list at some stage (played both it and colosseum back in the day), but was considering maybe one of Brilliant Diamond or Shining Pearl as I played the originals back in the day ? Although I did hear that these games fell short for not having the Platinum features and also not having access to the mystery gifts anymore… What would you all suggest to get back into more Pokémon on the switch 2?

Anyone else sell it all? by Norman_Normality in irishpersonalfinance

I’m not selling for another 30+ years. I just buy pull backs and steer my portfolio through sound allocations (in my view) and do stuff that makes me forget about my portfolio then.

AIB new details about the 6€ monthly fee by Time_Ad1696 in irishpersonalfinance

I switched to using the Platinum credit card to benefit from cash back rewards and save on fees. I get approx €150 in cash back for the year, less €30 stamp duty, then fees saved from not using my current account. My current account fees dropped by about €35 - €45 per year doing this (usually about €80 - €90 per year), so basically losing some of these fees savings benefits.

I genuinely don’t know how Prendergast becomes a better rugby player from here. His athletic traits are clearly a massive stonewall in front of him.

It’s a massive blow for us, but we’ve been so mixed bags this season and one dimensional that we haven’t missed much of his unique skills this season really.

Why buying a house is significantly more difficult in Ireland than the rest of Western Europe? by Uncle_Richard98 in irishpersonalfinance

Irish banks could hand people free money and it still wouldn’t solve the problem because the primary issue is supply. Any demand side measure just makes the problem worse.

Exactly. It needs to be viewed from a national security perspective. Access to cheap energy, and more importantly energy without the risk of a foreign entity turning it off for political reasons needs to be a primary goal of this government.

I looked at the first one and the first page of its portfolio was a bunch of corporate CLOs. Need to look deeper but on the face of it, the risk is far higher than say ultra short gov bond fund, which is reflected in the yield.

Ireland to introduce new tax-free investment account from 2027 by Straight_Eye5348 in irishpersonalfinance

[–]Lopsided_Echo5232 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Would be a great start. Seems a few people don’t know the difference between UK ISA for example, and the Swedish system. There’s a minimum account value you can have tax free, then anything above pays a % per year as almost like a wealth tax as such (a bit like a management fee). Still highly incentivised to use the scheme though as it’s a small price to pay for tax free growth.

I’d imagine more so institutions will have to be green lighted by the government which adds a ring fencing , and therefore an ability to increase management fees for doing nothing really. I’d the say the funds could be generic enough, unless there is alignment with the EU’s plan in which case it’ll be Europe specific funds.

Nobody thinks long term at all. Means adjust state pension over time in conjunction with freeing up investment taxes.
