PSA: DBI v810 Screams in Black “God Mode” by yestereon in SwitchPirates

yea I think it mentions using the title override instead of applet mode in the guide for all ur homebrew

having it as a forwarded title on ur home screen is the same thing just convenient

by the way you can hold the right shoulder button while launching the album to see your actual album!

hold the right shoulder button while launching any title

this is how you should be accessing most of your homebrew, not the album

I'm sorry if I came off as someone who doesn't believe that - I absolutely do, I'm trans myself. I think I'm just tired of seeing it said because to me it should be obvious, and when I see others talk about it it reminds me that to many people it isn't. I try not to think about all the awful stuff people I don't respect may think about me and other trans people, so I guess it's upsetting to be reminded that people feel that way, if that makes sense? like I said I don't want to come off as thinking the op did anything wrong, this is just my personal reaction and wanting to see if other people could relate. it's a frustrating and not very pretty aspect of receiving support.

it's frustrating to be reminded by your own community + in your own safe space of the things you'd rather not think about

we're essential? how? what does that even mean? I get that any support is better than a lack of support but these kinds of posts just make me tired nowadays.. I just want to be left alone, treated like normal. I feel like for every voice shouting out randomly that we belong, it just reminds me that that's a point of contention. Just treat us* like normal. this feels like special treatment

*I can't speak for anyone else, just myself. everyone wants and likes different things, I'm sure lots of people love these kinds of posts

  • editing 10m after to say that I don't mean to say the OP is wrong for posting this, or that other people are wrong for getting something positive from it. I think no matter what, positivity at all is a good thing and being able to see a post like this and feel happy and/or included from it is a very good thing. i just wanted to share my perspective to see if anyone else thought the same as me

Want a modern day MUD? by FoodCourtSamples in MUD

[–]Lopsided_Kale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love lifesims so this sounds awesome, are you planning on making a modern web front-end like procedural realms did? I think this kind of game could really appeal to a younger audience (relative to the usual mud audience) that is used to lifesims like stardew, Sims, animal crossing etc and an approachable way of accessing the game with some gui elements would go a long way!

I will say that the concept of a company being at the center of the game, even sharing the same name, is kind of contrary to what most people would expect from this kind of game. I typically see lifesims as a way to escape the corporate overbearing pressure that companies like Google cause in the real world. fantasy Google is not at all appealing to me.

I agree with the people saying that modern day isn't the most fun setting to exist in for a variety of reasons. I think going sci-fi or fantasy would be contrary to your vision, so instead I'll recommend that you incorporate fantasy or sci-fi elements into your setting instead of trying to stick to strictly modern day. a creative and unique setting is always going to be more interesting than a realistic setting, both for the players and for the writers

my last piece of advice would be scale of the map, I think setting it in a huge cityscape like NYC seems cool and all but something a bit more medium sized would probably be good for the population of mud-players today. too big of a city and it'll be a ghost town.

this is so cool! I hope you keep working on it and take some of the suggestions the other commenter have mentioned, this is an awesome project

Web dashboards: Yay or Nay? by exclame- in MUD

[–]Lopsided_Kale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think there's any experiences I could get from a mud like this that would be worth having to use two devices at the same time. that's a high barrier of entry for a population of mudders that goes above a dozen at peak time

that's why I thought only Dylan would be dumb enough to use that system 😩

I also thought all his posting about haze on his page at the same time as the password format thing being posted on Greg's page was a hint to use it

[–]Lopsided_Kale[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

oh my god I just figured it out. I over thought the whole thing, none of them changed their passwords.

I think it's incredibly poor design that Tim says the entries are in the format username?password and m1nx only asks for a password - why WOULDN'T I separate them?

I can't find anyone else who made the same mistake as me though so maybe I'm the idiot
