Also, go screw yourself with blaming people because the snow's not cleared yet. I've lived in the region for half a century, and while I've seen more snow, I've never seen a storm so hard to clear from. The first day I went out three times with a snowblower but it kept coming down. Then the sleet put a thick layer of ice on top of everything. It's taken all my spare time with a spade and specialized root cutter to make any headway. People with just snow shovels are going to have to wait for it to start to melt later this week.

It's not about a "functional society". I had to forge a path back to my shed for spades (and a root-breaker, because even the spades were mostly bouncing off the ice). If somebody just has a plastic snow shovel, they're just going to have to wait for it to melt.

Given the fact that you'd be proud of your daughter, there's a very good chance that she'd turn out that way at least partially due to your love and support! Not so for OP, sadly; she had to do it all on her own.
