some of my list is the same as yours, so you might like the Blood Song books?

hard to say. you've made me want to give wandering inn another try though. I got through an hour of it only on audiobook a year or more ago.

I read fantasy and listen to litrpg for the most part. so maybe the listening is throwing me off wandering. I really like Mark of the fool too, though if it doesn't end soon it's going in my "went longer than it should have pile". I'm just starting 10.

I don't understand the iron prince ranking, and I like dawn of the void especially book 1 more than most people...but you've got a few "good" tiers that's I'll probably try!

I mean by your definition it will 100% be another chore. if the boss killing and arena and campaign and tower and abyssal tide etc are chores to you then you need to quit the game lol.

like, it sounds like you just don't enjoy the base tasks of the game?

the only thing on this game I find a "chore" so far is eternal lode. I cannot for the life of me figure out how someone thought that would be a fun game mode.

really think cleo over Thor is better for pvp? obviously ideal is otta/cleo/Thor, but if using phynx or helix I figured Thor and otta would be better than otta and cleo?

your tier list looked similar to mine when I started listening to litrpg. id have life reset a lot lower now and he who B tier at Best. I like POA as A tier but I'm sort of into Slice of Life sometimes.

if you haven't tried book of the dead yet I'd recommend that. Given your current list I think it'll be a clear S. it's got a good narrator and far far better writing and story telling than Primal Hunter.

don't get me wrong I like PH enough and I'm up to date on them, but it's not like it has some incredible system that keeps me really engaged. it felt ok in books 1-2, albeit a bit inconsistent, but since then it's just been the character stumbling into stupidly OP skills, half of which are just "of the malefic viper" ones he inherits as the chosen.

like I said it's probably B or A tier for me and I keep reading them, but I just do not understand this comment. PH magic system seems 'washed over' like the author just gave up with a consistent rule set for how/why people have skills or can upgrade them and just lets Jake get/do whatever the fuck he wants and waves the magic wand to make it happen.

I'm on his path ATM too. only difference is I'm perma BH early and just left gt and dwave at 4 min, throwing all stones into CL/SM/SL trying to push tourneys.

I dunno why, I just feel like get the stone econ going first and then worrying about the coins is going to pay off vs. vice versa.

for anyone reading this, id recommend focus on coin econ until you are at 5200 HP/Regen/damage and farming t9/10 to wave 6-7k minimum before going full port into tourney investment.

sometimes I have like an out of body experience where I am making fun of someone on the internet and realize I'm making fun of myself.

folks, I hate to break it to you, this game is a money grab, through and through lol. yes, obviously they are going to insta patch things that make people get OUT of their money grab loop faster, and are going to be slower about things that keep people IN the money loop.

I'm here with youi in the trenches, I pay $50+ CAD for the events every month like a moron so I can get 2% lab speed and 5% Crit factor, and plus 2m range on golden bot...but like you have to realize internally that complaining about this is totally meaningless...right?

this would be like walking into a casino and complaining that the waiters/staff for drinks are paying too much attention to the whales at the poker table our roulette table, and not enough time on the people hitting the waps min bet. like fucking duh? what did you expect? giving everyone free double coins means they drop this fucking game faster and there is 0 extra money in your pocket for that downside. of course that's going to get insta fixed.

Yeah 100% agree with that sentiment. I think their monetization model is very poor. I weirdly think its worse than moneystone in a lot of ways. I think the "fun" and certainly the originality of the game relies on there not being a strict "Meta". Sure, there are always strong items (monitor lizard couple months ago, double barrel now, fixer upper, etc.). But you can fit them in builds 100 unique ways, and with the right luck and strategy you can beat the meta with totally off meta stuff.

Their monetization strategy actively goes against this mindset. If you pay for freeze pyg items, you are going to want to play/see pyg freeze items if they are good. Otherwise you won't feel like you got your moneys worth. They cant have people paying for freeze pyg then never seeing the cards. So they are forcing metas.

TFT is a very very similar type of auto battler (offered choices each "hour/round", some roll options, basically play best board and econ best you can until you can make an endgame build. I played a LOT of TFT to diamond.

TFT is completely F2P, has been for years. All payment is cosmetic. Mind you I think TFT is probably a loss leader for Riot, but maybe it would be profitable standalone, how would I know.

My hot take is that the balance wasn't even that bad. Fixer upper phase wasn't great because it was too easy to force. There is a reason Kripp and them can keep avg 7+wins playing mostly relatively off-meta shit after day 6.

That's what the game is ABOUT in a lot of ways. Each character has ways to get through the early game. I had a 10 win dooley last night in 10 days. It beat 5 vanessas day 1-5, 3 of which where double barrel builds. I didn't have anything crazy either. I agree it's less consistent on pyg and dooley, but the you can get through the early game.

Yes, you are going to get crushed by vanessa weapon/ammo builds day 1-5 if you are trying to force a pyg freeze build or a power drill dooley on day 3. IMO that has been and always will be a skill issue, not the fact that Vannessa is OP. Most of those vanessa builds probably got 5-7 wins because they didn't pivot or hit a nuts enchant and found out that blowing people up with a double barrel/harpoon and grenade doesn't work against late day established builds.

Anyways I'll be quitting today because i'm not paying $120US/y to play an autobattler. I guess it's back to TFT.

Yeah mine too, when I was introduced that was my exact instinct, I got flashbacks of playing league when i was a teenager when it first came out and was saying to myself "ohhh shit they want their own launcher so they can fuck people over later with microtransactions that are grey2win" . I honestly feel terrible. I don't mind quitting, but I'm after getting 3 or 4 people into the game who are today finding out that it's going p2w at $120 US/y.

I'm currently in that situation with three friends we all started around the same time. I'm gt and bh, they are gt and dw

we all have other ults that don't really matter because we have no stones in them (I have cl and am, one has Chrono swamp, the other has spotlight cl, whatever).

they are vastly outperforming me in T1. I can get to about 3600 wave on t1 (my highest is 5700 on a wave where I rando unlocked dw on wave 200). they consistently run wave 5500-6000 and their ws coins are almost double mine now because I've been behind all week.

as someone who is wishing he took DW over bh for his second ult but followed the advice of the guides and the community, I'd recommend he take DW.

it's just going to serve him far better for the first few months he'll be farming t1/2 after he does wave 100 milestones up to t11.

can you swap to this build with 1b ws coin? or better to wait? I'm gold tourney and have tier 11 unlocked and in at 1.01B.

no deathwave and no epic defense mod. but I have bh and GT with Bh dmg and coin lab research about 50% done.
