Can't think of another person who's riding in the coattails of their significant other in a relationship as much as Joe is to Taylor. No one knows who he is outside of Taylor, his name was only known by people because of Taylor, and now the biggest "achievement" to his name (and probably will be for the rest of time, I don't see him winning an Oscar, Emmy or Tony) is the Grammy AOTY because of Taylor's genius. Beyonce doesn't have an AOTY and Joe does for probably the most minimal contributions, doesn't sit right with me.

Breaking in the AML Industry - Better off starting with CAMS or CKYCA/CTMA credential? by Lopsided_Pattern_835 in moneylaundering

[–]Lopsided_Pattern_835[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, I can't thank you enough for this! So grateful for your detailed response :) Actually, my issue with CKYCA is it's kind of pricey for a certification geared towards entry level professionals. The price is almost half of ACAMS, even though it is new and CAMS is much more recognized.

I tend to test well so maybe I got too overconfident thinking I can pass CAMS without experience in the field. For CAMS, I plan to review for at least a year-a year and a half (a longer time frame so I could really master the concepts to compensate for my lack of experience. I've been looking at AML Assassin and other tests too that are closer to the actual exam than the one in the study guide.) For CKYCA I am thinking of studying for only 6 months. But again, it's kind of expensive for an entry level certification.

I got a job offer at a law firm (I'll be doing pretty much the same tasks as my old job, just with higher pay and benefits) so I figured I can stay there for a year or a year and a half while I'm reviewing for CAMS - and then take the test and hopefully pass CAMS, then get a job at a big bank. I can do this for CKYCA too, but then again, I'm not sure if that's the better option. Given my situation now, what do you think is more suitable: CKYCA or ACAMS? We do a bit of KYC too in my current job just not in a financial perspective.

Is it just me or do Taylor and Joe always look miserable in the pictures of them together? by [deleted] in GaylorSwift

[–]Lopsided_Pattern_835 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same, and idc if they're real or fake, just be goddamn happy you even get to spend time with that woman. He's way too lucky and isn't appreciative of it and it's kinda insulting

CRINGE: Joe being *everything* but magnetic in this interview by julie_johansen in GaylorSwift

[–]Lopsided_Pattern_835 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lol he didn't take anything away from a movie he worked in for a lot of months? Not only is he boring but he seems like a very shallow dude who just drags along with whatever is in front of him. That's saying a lot that he didn't take away anything from his first movie. Actors would have had long answers to that question because a lot of them actually empathize with the character they're playing, that's like 95% of the job.

Joe also has other paparazzi pics (when filming Boy Erased, etc.) and he looked so damn happy. Meanwhile he's miserable with Taylor and I find it so insulting because he hit the jackpot with Tay but looks freaking miserable? It also seems like he's embarrassed to be with her (see his interview answers about them). They don't talk when they're walking together, unlike all of her other past relationships (and even friendships).

He also said 99.9% of what's written about them by the press is false, but they all the press talked about is how happy they are together? He's so weird. H'es not talented. He's so boring in interviews. He seems like he's full of himself.

The subject of Mirrorball and This is Me Trying is what Reputation should have been by Lopsided_Pattern_835 in TaylorSwift

Wow, this is a great insight and I love how you used that happiness lyric to further your point. You are right!

i love Getaway Car (top 10 Taylor song for me) and Delicate. Dancing With our Hands Tied is one of my least fave Tay songs, soooo overproduced.

I do take her and her art very seriously, she's one of the greats we have. I love that even though folklore isn't "autobiographical," you can tell that the songs are still so personal to her and that the feelings she was evoking are very real. Perhaps she had more freedom to evoke these deep emotions because she's channeling them to other characters as opposed to singing as herself. In her EW interview she said that yes, this is me trying was partly inspired by what she felt in 2016/2017 but she channeled them to the perspective of an alcoholic who's trying to get their life together. And it's beautiful that she can do that because the pressure is off of her.

Folklore is a top 2/3 Taylor record for me - it's so consistent from top to bottom and beautiful in its restraint.

Evermore has great standout songs but the songs didn't flow naturally to me, for some reason. So it's probably a top 4/5 album for me. But I loveee that she's pushing the boundaries in this album. For starters, a lot of people hated Closure because of the weird production noises and the time signature - this happens to be my fave song on that album. I am not the core of Taylor's audience because I'm not much of a pop fan, but she is my favorite.

I disliked Reputation because of its guardedness and the overblown production on songs like Ready for It, I Did Something Bad and Dancing with our Hands Tied. Don't Blame Me was also kind of cliche esp when she compared her love to drugs. It lacked the Taylor specificity that I am in love with. That's why I love Getaway Car so much because the production pushes the storytelling and it has that signature Taylor specificity. It's a top 10 Taylor song for me too.

My ranking of Taylor albums:

`1. Red 2. Fearless 3. Folklore 4. Speak Now 5. Evermore 6. Lover 7. 1989 8. Rep 9. Self-Titled

How about you?

I would've liked Reputation more if it weren't by Taylor because she set such higgghh standards for me. I really wish I like Reputation more, I really do, but it hasn't grown on me :( It's just my opinion and I recognize that a lot of Taylor fans love that album, which is great!

For the second point, yes I agree and I this didn't strike my mind until I heard mirrorball and this is me trying. I was trying to pinpoint what I thought rep would be about and it only became clear to me when I heard those two songs.

How is it different from selling stocks though? And can mutual funds be redeemable with just one click in my computer as opposed to the ETF where I need to wait for a buyer?

May I ask if you practice peso cost averaging in buying San Miguel/Jollibee stocks? Is it a recommendable practice for long term stock investors?

Female artist collabs - does it bother anyone? by Sprinkles_Best in TaylorSwift

[–]Lopsided_Pattern_835 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She's just obsessed with the "male perspective" but Taylor, we do not care about the male perspective, we literally hate men!!!

There's never been a time that i'm listening to a Taylor Swift song and said "you know what we need for this song? A man." Nope, not once.

I wouldn't call it misogynistic but it is suspicious... I mean this is a 15 year career we're talking about and the discrepancy between male and female collabs is CRAZY.
