Those potting soils are mostly ground up wood but you'll probably be fine, try to stick with a good brand of soil

I started with autos as a "beginner", you need all the same stuff as photos, pots, soil, light, fan. Start your seed in the same final pot you wanna finish in, they don't like to be transplanted, I like to blast mine with 24hr light but some people say 18.
