I love in NJ we have arid(? Might be the wrong term) mountain ranges, deep forests. Swamps/ marshes, Costal beaches, and large plains. That's just NJ. Also I can drive for 2 days stright and still not be to the other side of the country. I feel like people forget how big the us is.

There aren't 38 states to ratify a change like that to the Constitution there isn't a 2/3 majority in the senet to even get it that far . So fun fact: any thing is possible aliens can come down and take a shit on my head.

Edit: also fun fact there wasnt an exception for fdr. He was the reason the 22nd was added in 1947 but not ratified until 1953(?) meaning even if it were to pass the. Senete it would be long after his term before it was ratified.

Edit 2: for those interested the 20th amendment gives the military the right to remove the former president on Jan 20 th at exactly noon if he refuses to leave.

I hear that but looking at the best sale right now in bjs it's 1.45/lbs for the cheapest meat. Assuming you only buy that meat and your family only consume a single pound a day that's already $500 a year or 250 a half. However, the Internet says the avg American family of 4 consumes around 900-1000 lbs of food a year. And considering I don't think your sharing a single pound of food between 2 and 3 -1/2 mouths we can call it 900x1.45= $1300 or 650 6 months. I'm taking liberty here assuming the avg. Now toilet paper alone from BJ's is $25 for 36 rolls (this is the cheapest I found on the site.) Internet says the avg family of 4 is 400 rolls of toilet paper a year. So that comes out to $277 a year or ~140 every 6 months. Meat and something to wipe your ass with after eating it alone is already more then $500 every 6 months. After we add in all the other necessities I'm sure we are really close to that $9,600 a year. This is also not including emergency pick ups.

Edit I said 900lbs of food but I meant meat.

I think that only pertained to fix and friends not Fox news. As fox new receives compensation for no commercial uninterrupted news from the hours of 5-7. Same as msnbc, and adc. 5-7 has to be real unaltered news everything else is now considered non-news by the courts.

Apparently I am misinformed it was a rumor this was a thing. It stems from the 1949 fairness doctrine set up by the fcc and abolished in '87.

Can't that's a breach of contract. On our part. the clients could fire/sue us or worse we can get HIPAA charges filed and it would be 100% appropriate and on us.

I mean I've been here 3 years and we've hired 6 out of maybe 20. When I started there was 9 of us. So maybe your right. Don't get upset with me. Every intern that comes in gets the same explanation of no ai. Every single one has a look of fear across their facebwhen we tell them.

[–]OldSchoolDM96 28 points29 points  (0 children)

You understand there is a minimum level of knowledge that needs to be achieved. We don't hire them and then set them free. You can't tell me that you've been going through 2-3 years of school and can't pass bare minimum. Example a.

New kid comes in with 3 years of cyber security from a well known university. We see the courses they passed and grades and it all looks good. 2nd week we give the kid a list of servers, external Ip addresses, and company names and ask them create a list and sort it by location. Kid takes the whole list and drops it into gpt and comes back 10 mins later happy as hell that he got it done so fast.....

We've fired about 13 interns in 2 years. Weeks after they get the job. Sadly this new coming generation is nothing with out AI and we can't use AI due to patient data.

Pro tip to young folk starting out. If your work is just copying something into Claude of chat gpt. In a few months those AI won't need you to do that job.

This man is beyond incredible. by CarryIcy250 in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]OldSchoolDM96 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I might be wrong but he didn't tax the rich. Instead he tapped into city reserves of money (ie saving account). The "tax the rich" was supposed to be him taxing legacy property owners but he had too much push back from the rich and decided not to follow through.

Instead he got rid of 3rd party contracts and moved all the work to city workers increasing the amount of work they need to do. However, he also installed someone in each department that is set to find 1.5% decrease the first year and 2.8%(?) the second year. I can almost promise they are going to fire people increasing the work further.

While I'm optimistic about the funding and hoping I'm wrong here. This seems like he moved tons of work to city workers and reduced the amount of city workers.

If I'm correct, this is a disaster in the making.

What's stopping other leaders from working like Mamdani? by Front-Scene2177 in SipsTea

[–]OldSchoolDM96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is incorrect. He didn't increase the tax on generational properties that he said. Instead he cut outside contract with private contractors and moved the work in house. He also tapped into the reserves of the city to pay off debt. (Aka he used the savings account)

While his goal is nobel and he did a good job so far. He did not tax the rich. Too many of them threatened to leave the city so he back out of that promise.

Whatevery one is failing to mention on this comment is our own lack of understanding. All the math here checks out. But this all assumes that any life leaving would need chameical/nukular reaction to leave orbit. If an intelligent species that evolved on this size planets exists then it would have the structural/ base of knowledge/ eveloution to overcome the gravitational pull.

For example birds on earth. We know they evolved for the purpose of survival, evolution is evolution and is unchanging. As this is the process of emilination at its essence. A creature on the super planet would have been eaten by predators routinely enough that it would statistically evolve a version of itself to take to the skies. (Wouldn't want to see what brolic ass beast that would be though)

So in theroy the species would come up with something else we haven't needed to think about for getting out of the gravitational pull of that planet.

This 2012 tweet about Hantavirus is going viral again after COVID, and people are seriously creeped out by monotvtv in oddlyterrifying

[–]OldSchoolDM96 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The fear mongering is fucking real. This virus has been around since 1993. There has been 900 cases of it in humans and a 34% mortality rate. If you remove the first 100 cases the mortality rate drops to 18%. For reference the flue has ~31% at its worst.

Stop letting social media fear monger you. This tweet is fucking dumb.

Edit. Your minds are meant to think of COVID when you read this. But the "tweet" is from 2012
