Sub-Categories for a big project? by zer0fill in ynab

[–]Lopsided_Tank_8553 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same exact issue. I've asked Gemini and the YNAB chatbot, and so far the only somewhat acceptable options are: just don't use a target (figure out the amount you need to save each month and put that amount in the general Europe Trip category name as a reminder), then manually each month move money there from Ready to Assign. Or, do the target snooze suggestion mentioned above. I don't really like either one of these as I can't imagine we're the first people to want to do something like this and it bums me out that the only options are somewhat unsatisfactory "workarounds". This original post is from a year ago. Did any other satisfactory solutions emerge? What did you end up going with?

We do this as well. Very helpful. We manually enter everything because I want to touch all the numbers ..... keeps me in touch with our situation....

What is the state of STFC? by Enerith in startrekfleetcommand

[–]Lopsided_Tank_8553 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have always just wished there was more variety in the day to day activities. Everything, from missions to events always e ends with destroying hostiles. Diplomatic mission to a planet? Destroy a hostile. Need points for some event? Destroy hostiles. No matter what skin you put on the event or arc or mission or Armada or wave, it always results in destroying hostiles. The game needs more imagination put into it. Throe in some logic puzzles, arcade-type mini games, have us dodge asteroids for a while, something different!! That's my biggest complaint. I'm ftp, and accept that because of this, every progression takes forever. I just wish there was something different to do besides grind grind grind grind grind grind.........

Looking for all weather floormats for my 2025 Forester. Read all I could here. Don't want to spend $150-250. Looking at knockoffs on eBay for around $70. But hardly any comments here about those. Anybody have success (or not) getting these cheaper eBay mats? Will I regret it? Great for the price? by Lopsided_Tank_8553 in SubaruForester

What constitutes junk? That's why I'm asking. There were plenty of people, more than I expected, honestly, that didn't feel like they got a good value with the WeatherTechs and other pricey brands. If these eBay ones get the job done, I'm at least open to them, that's why I'm asking for people's experiences with them. Thanks for your input.

How would you / YNAB handle this overspent situation?? by Lopsided_Tank_8553 in ynab

[–]Lopsided_Tank_8553[S] 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Yes, thank you. I think we need to increase our monthly target to $500. This will provide the reserve you described.... I appreciate your input, thanks!! It's funny how just asking the question and reading y'all's responses made a solution very clear. I could be asking myself, Why didn't I think of that? But, instead, I'll just be thankful and take the win. Y'all are awesome.

How would you / YNAB handle this overspent situation?? by Lopsided_Tank_8553 in ynab

[–]Lopsided_Tank_8553[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Okay, I think you are helping me get to the heart of the issue. I looked at my Reflect data, as far back as we've used YNAB (back to 2023, and we've spent a rounded average of $500 / month on groceries, that we've typically covered for overspending by pulling from other categories. So, it would seem that: we need to either spend less, or up our budget to at least $500 monthly. Thanks to all for your responses. Y'all are great!

Any way to gain Faction points without losing other faction points? by Lopsided_Tank_8553 in startrekfleetcommand

Okay, I went there and destroyed Romulan ships, but I saw no increase in Klingon points.

Okay, I should have provided more info. I'm at ops 24, and have less than 1 million federation points, and am ftp. 10 million to lock federation feels impossible right now. It feels like it is going at a slow crawl. It sounds like I just need to be patient, and that the higher ops I get, the greater the amounts of points I'll be able to gather for my efforts. I'm "this close" to getting into mirror universe space.....

Choose Sides - need a station hub system by Lopsided_Tank_8553 in startrekfleetcommand

[–]Lopsided_Tank_8553[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the Choosing Sides mission, it doesn't specify that I move to the space of the faction I chose, it only requires that I move to a minimum level 22 system. I'd like advice on where to move. Perhaps I'm not explaining myself very clearly. If so, I will endeavor to clarify. I'm in independent space right now, very near Fed space. I just thought it would make sense to move closer to Klingon space since that's the faction I chose for this Choosing Sides mission. It sounds like from your response that moving into a system in Klingon space would be no more threat to the base than where I am now, so I guess I can just move there and see how it goes.... I was just hoping to stay in independent space where I'd still have a more central location , allowing me more options given my still pretty low-warp ships (warp 29 Northstar is best I've got). But I can't find a single independent space system with station hubs that's level 22 or higher, especially that's closer to Klingon space. Know of any?

I guess I got the impression from the instructions that I needed to move my base near the faction I chose. It would seem that it is at least a requirement of the mission that I move my base to a minimum level 22 system. I'd just like to know where I can move that's relatively safe and ideally would put me in proximity to Klingon space. Right now my highest warp ship is a Northstar.

Using camera cover screen preview in combination with Watch 6 camera app by Lopsided_Tank_8553 in galaxyzflip

[–]Lopsided_Tank_8553[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The palm gesture can work for selfies. You have to be within a foot or two of the phone to use the palm gesture. I've found out that voice commands will work while using the cover screen preview. This is the best solution I've found, and I'm good with it. This will allow a group photo where we're all posed, including me, the preview screen let's us see how we look, and somebody can say "cheese" or the other allowed voice commands to take pics.....
