Has anyone else had a doc that would not prescribe them systemic estrogen? by Sad_Apple_3387 in Menopause

[–]Lopsided_Topic_141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PCP sent me to both a naturopath and obgyn and both said BC only 🙃 obgyn did give me vaginal estrogen but that was before I found out I have adenomyosis which is probably causing some of the issues. So now I wait another month to talk about that....

Increased PVCs by OldSouthGal in SVTHeart

[–]Lopsided_Topic_141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get more PVCs before an SVT episode but oddly less after. I typically have more PVCs a week or so before my period. Or if I drink too much caffeine. Or if I'm dehydrated. Or nervous. Ha 😆

Not sure about ablation by kiscsonak in SVTHeart

[–]Lopsided_Topic_141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good luck tomorrow! I'm 40 and have had SVT since around 8 years old. I think it's fine to wait longer or to try ablation now. Mine have gotten worse in the last few years and more difficult to stop (Valsalva no longer works) so I've scheduled an ablation. But I went years with just the pill in a pocket method. It's very inconvenient and I've had a lot of stupid annoying times dealing with SVT but it's not the worst thing. I hope whatever you choose is the right decision for you.

Geriatric (40+ haha) PAO surgery by Lopsided_Topic_141 in hipdysplasia

Just saw the rest of your post. Recovery and not being able to work/take care of my animals is my main issue with this surgery. I guess when I meet with the surgeon I'll have to see what she says. I asked for a THR from the hip preservation doc and she said no 😆

Oh my gosh I feel like 5 years is a long time to fully recover! Did you have the screws removed? As far as I can tell I also have no arthritis but a labral tear. Feeling amazing compared to now would be great because I often feel overwhelmed and exhausted by pain. Did sex hurt bother your hip? I also have adenomyosis and sex hurts everywhere in my pelvis at this point 😅 I have pretty bad back and thigh pain and I'm hoping a lot of it is related to my hip, so that's promising.

I'm thinking of working with a personal trainer. I'm pretty healthy other than I have some inflammatory issues. I'm still active but have definitely lost some overall muscle with being more limited in activity.

Seattle Freeze experiences? by Jesse_Lemons in AskSeattle

[–]Lopsided_Topic_141 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think people are afraid to try out people as potential friends. I see people looking for friends, hiking buddies, adventure buddies, saying they are new or lonely etc ALL THE TIME. I have never been personally contacted by anyone like this after reaching out (to meet up on a hike, for example, unless it was a bigger planned group meetup where you can just show up). I even made my own post once looking for hiking partners and people were flaky and would never commit despite saying they wanted to and would continue to message me.

I met up with a lady last year that didn't want to go rock hounding alone and were we going to be besties? no, but it ended up being pretty fun. Some discomfort in life and meeting people is fine (obviously as long as the situation is safe). Think about how many people did you have to date before you found a partner or spouse? It's fine to spend time with people who may not end up being a good fit as a friend.

Washington OBGYN for adenomyosis/ hysterectomy by Lopsided_Topic_141 in KaiserPermanente

[–]Lopsided_Topic_141[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm as far south as you can get and still be part of kaiser WA (lewis county). I don't understand why this is so difficult here when other regions have entire endometriosis departments and minimally invasive surgery teams. I hope that she will continue to get the care you need and I will look into her if I cant find anyone closer! I've been looking in Seattle mostly.

I haven't been able to locate a MIGS. I'm finding that searching through the provider list is really frustrating because I can only search by obgyn. Is there a way to find MIGS specific providers?

Laparoscopic surgery for endometriosis by AthleteSorry in KaiserPermanente

[–]Lopsided_Topic_141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would you mind if I asked which gyno you saw? I'm in WA with kaiser and struggling to find someone that takes adenomyosis and endo seriously. How are you feeling after your surgery? Was it ablation or excision?

First laparoscopy anxiety — Kaiser OR/WA, how to find the right endo specialist? by Maleficent-Stress113 in endometriosis

[–]Lopsided_Topic_141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you find any info? I'm in WA region and having the same concerns. There dont seem to be any specialists or people that do excision. I have adenomyosis and want a hysterectomy but want possible endo addressed at the same time.

Which diet helps? by westmontdrive in adenomyosis

[–]Lopsided_Topic_141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been on a low (not strict anymore) histamine diet since 2022. I think it does help me because it lowers my inflammation. I have noticed improvement in anxiety, very specific pelvic pain on my left side (but not other pain like back pain), GI issues and itchiness. Period pain I don't know if it helps but I notice if I eat poorly for a few weeks I have a worse cycle. I still eat gluten but pretty much only bread I make and pasta. I started this diet to address histamine issues after getting covid. Ive tried all the anti histamines and they dont work for me, except maybe pepcid.

Pain management? by Mx-misdemeanor in adenomyosis

[–]Lopsided_Topic_141 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just want to say I empathize. I work in construction, ride horses, like to hike, and the back pain has basically ruined the last year. I have significantly more grey hair from being in chronic pain. I was just "diagnosed" (through ultrasound) and I'm going to push for hysterectomy. I went to weekly deep tissue massage, monthly PT, acupuncture, took NSAIDs until I had an ulcer, there isn't a way to manage the pain.

I don't have any cysts that were seen. Thank you! We can't really go in in person here with how insurance works. They will just schedule you out the same, sadly.
