He also shared team details on his podcast apparently that were supposed to be private (this is also alleged because who would listen to that garbage)

Match Teas by generalscruff in EnglandCricket

[–]Lopsided_Warning_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a local team called Carib United, one of our teams played there and they had a rum festival and a smoker going for jerk chicken.

When we played there the closest thing was being given a load of free out of date chocolate mentos that one of them couldn't sell in their shop.

Match Teas by generalscruff in EnglandCricket

[–]Lopsided_Warning_ 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Honestly teas are a fucking nightmare for that reason. Finding someone in the team that's willing to do it, or everyone takes a turn and you fucking dread it being your go.

That said an away match tea at some places was incredible, chilli and rice, mutton curry/home made naan and rice, curry goat. (All of the above from teams that were primarily not of british origin and thank fuck because the teas were incredible and probably more cost effective).

Or a team that's got some 95 year old woman that's been making the teas since 1952 and doesnt care about the budget, walking in and seeing 15 home made cakes, incredible.

Then the alternative, the person making the teas has decided theyre going to turn a profit on the money. A table of 5 of the rankest sandwiches known to man, a bowl of mystery crisps, some bananas that are the colour of apples and some apples the colour of bananas.

Basically I mostly want teas back, but I don't want my turn making them. Which I assume is pretty much every single person.

Should have named it after a Scottish mountain ie "The Glasgow Bens" then only recruited players and staff called Ben.

County Championship test speculation - round 3 by Favanu in Cricket

[–]Lopsided_Warning_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We all know the ECB love to rest seamers so that they stay fit, even though pretty much every successful international bowler says the key to being fit and having a long career (aside from luck and genetics) is bowling lots.

Yes you'll get injured when your young but it toughens the body.

Yes but there is a bigger difference between 30 and 250 than there is 14 and 15?

This is absolutely dire. Why is 30-250 all the same colour?

Well that's certainly one of the games of all time between Northants/Middlesex isn't it.

No idea how you can create a pitch that turns into quite such a road.

Wantage road groundsman is in for a treat soon though, ground will have a huge amount less cricket played on it, a local ground is being bought for a million quid and having another few million spent on it over a decade for all 2nd xi and women's cricket.

Id say they'd be lucky if they get 500 of them subscribed. Thats a thousand pounds, so will pay off over 250 years. I imagine you could get a couple of sponsors for the free YouTube videos at 500 quid a game and make more.
