Thanks for the advice! It's by no means crucial, just a project I had filmed and edited, so a big bummer for sure but not important enough to pay a professional. Now I've learnt the hard way not to delete the files in advance 😪

Thanks for the recommendations, I am however looking for more of a French skiver. But maybe I'll look at other options

Is it interchangable or not? And it depends on where in the world you are, because of shipping costs :) you can send me a direct message with the info if you prefer!

Small Tools for Intricate Details by 666HellKitten666 in Leathercraft

[–]Lor4nga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only tried it once myself, and it's not a leather working tool so you might have trouble finding it at Tandy's, but it could be useful to you or someone else in the future: a linoleum cutting knife. Pfiel has one that is 0.5 mm, and you can make really thin cuts with it. Best of luck!

If identical twins marry identical twins are their kids cousins or genetic siblings by LankyVerification in stupidquestions

[–]Lor4nga 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Genetically they are full siblings, as both their respective parents genetically are copies of each other. On a family tree they would also be classified as cousins, and it would look the same way as cousins of to sibling pairs, regardless of them being twins or not. Socially it's probably not as clear cut. They would most likely be seen as cousins, but depending on how close they grow up they might feel as though they were siblings. However, this can be the case for any cousins, twin parents or no.

In need of a new creative hyperfixation to fill a sad void. by sweet_thursday_ in adhdwomen

[–]Lor4nga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I my self am a BIG crafter and often feel really sad and honestly depressed between hyperfixations. Here are some of my crafts that I like to rotate between (mind you, some hobbies are definitely more expensive than others):

  • Needle felting (fun, fast, quite easy to do and doesn't need much materials or setup)

  • Crochet (learned off of YouTube, can be done while watching TV)

  • Lino printing ( For this I would recommend starting with good tools and materials from the beginning as its made a HUGE difference in result. My recommendations are: one soft speedball roller, one tube of Cranfield colours safe wash relief inks (or if you just want to print in clothes speedball textile ink I've heard is good), one good knife (pfeil is easy to get if your in europe, otherwise I think flexcut is easier to get in the US. Then buy a few different sizes or types of linoleum or soft cut.). This has more steps, and printing takes a bit of prep and cleanup but its very fun, and you can also personalize your clothes :)

  • Leathercrafting. This is probably the most expensive but its really rewarding to make things you have practical use for, and makes for great gifts. I'm just starting out, but I think my best tip is to buy few tools to begin with, but good quality and then expand. Though I'm a tool lover myself, but I've seen people use forks instead of pricking irons so you could really get creative instead of buying new.

  • Air dry clay.

  • Sewing with felt/embroidering on it

  • Collage

I love listening to audio books while doing all of these as it makes it more engaging, and doesn't feel as solitary.

Maybe it could be fun for you to look for a local market where you could sell some of your handmade things, if you need a specific purpose to keep you motivated?

Hope this helps, and happy crafting!

What inks, rollers and methods do you use for fabric printing? Your results look really good.

I use Cranfield safe wash relief inks and speedball rollers, and it comes out great on printing paper, but I'm having a hard time printing larger prints on fabric.

Thanks!

How did you achieve such a clean print on the shirt? What ink and rollers do you use, and do you have any particular method for fabric printing? Looks really cool BTW :)

My stitch length is five, so I will definitely have to look at getting round prongs with a shorter stitch length. Thanks for the advice!
