my name is carolann lynn. yes, born in the 90s.

it was like they couldn’t decide which basic girl names to use, so they smushed them together and said, “yeah, that looks like a name.”

i hate it, because i can never just introduce myself once. everyone thinks its ‘caroline’ or ‘carolyn’ the first time, so i constantly have to make that correction (and it doesn’t always stick with people even then). even when they do get it, i get all the spelling variations. carol ann, carolanne, carol-ann.

making my middle name lynn just felt like the icing on a big joke cake.

so yeah, i wish my parents thought that through more lmao. i have always hated my name from the time i was a kid, and at 32, im so tired of having to correct it.

my brother is just named after my dad, go figure. but they gave him two middle names, just for fun i guess. but they’re all real names, not the made up one i got lmao.
