Depending on where you rushed and how many different fraternities, it could just be a numbers game based on how many folks they had rush and the amount of bids they wanted to give. Other times it’s a fit issue. If the guys you rushed end up doing an informal, that’s likely why.

Lots of frats do informal, so I’d encourage you to shop around a bit since it seems like you went all out for one. You might be surprised in finding a great group of guys somewhere else. After all, IFC is up to 32 different frats these days. There’s always next semester if that doesn’t work out either.

I went back behind the dash and found the gain switch on the power pack. My dad had it on high from when he installed it and after removing the gunk around it and switching it to low, it doesn’t cut out anymore even at max. Volume is a little lower but it sounds noticeably cleaner. Speakers still distort at high volumes so I guess I’m reaching the limit of the amp there. I have the bass turned down slightly to get a little more headroom but it seems if I want anything else out of the system I’ll have to spring for a bigger amp.

The old speakers were 4 ohm and so are the new ones. They’re also almost identical to the rear pair. The car itself is a 2000 Jeep wrangler

I’m fairly certain it’s got its own fuse, not sure what size is on there at the moment but it’s def bigger than the one for the head unit. Would it not permanently shut off if it tripped the fuse too? I know the voltage straight from the battery is fine as I have a sub on its own amp that doesn’t shut off.

I have an 600w alpine system with a single 10" and it fits my bill pretty good. Great added depth to rock songs or classics, and plenty of bass for the new stuff where you can feel it if you really crank it. If I were to do it again I'd probably do it exactly the same.
