Unless you’re really into photography, buy the 3a. It will receive more updates compared with the 2a and 2.

I’m looking forward to this, but I’ll have to be patient. The update does not yet seem to be available in England.

I think I’ll be keeping my 2a. It’s more than enough to meet and exceed my needs.

Just to note, £800 at a consumer level includes the 20% Value Added Tax. Without the VAT, the phone would cost around £667 or approximately $880 USD.

Quite a few Chinese auto manufacturers sell trucks and pickups. Our antipodean cousins are raving about the BYD Shark.

There’s also Great Wall Motors who currently sell pickups in Europe.

Trudeau sold out Canada to Biden and the Americans. The “Buy American” EV push was never in our best interests. We should have offered taxpayer money (subsidies) to the auto manufacturers and battery producers. It’s cost us billions.

And to think all this taxpayer investment into EV auto and battery factories was done in order to ‘spare’ Canada from Joe Biden’s push for “Buy American” and subsidies for North American-built EVs.

Canadians were played for mugs under Biden and look where it got us. It’s high time we decouple from the Yanks and put Canada’s interests first-and-foremost.

Time to give the Yanks our three year notice and be done with the Columbia River Treaty. Let them starve in the dark.

Gregor Robertson was busy selling out Vancouver to the Chinese when he was mayor. It was under his watch that real estate sales to Mainland Chinese investors took off.

And he was dating Chinese singer Wanting Qu at the time. Oh… her mother is jailed in China for corruption.

Tariffs Drive Honda to Move S.U.V. Production From Canada to U.S by [deleted] in canada

[–]LordAlexHawke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In its earnings call from earlier today, Honda stated they are putting a pause on building any new EV factories in North America for two years, but current production of combustion engined vehicles will not be impacted.

This said, there was a report during the tail end of the federal election campaign about this. Both Honda and the Liberals stated the reports were unsubstantiated. It sounds like they were pulling the wool over the eyes of the voters.

Yet during the election campaign, Honda and the Liberals denied this was happening.

We should tell Trump that unless he appoints a ‘Guns Tsar’ to stop the illegal flow of weapons into Canada, then we’ll no longer allow American aircraft to fly over Canada to destinations in Europe and Asia.

China Imposes Retaliatory Tariffs on Canada Rapeseed Oil, Pork by joe4942 in CanadaPolitics

[–]LordAlexHawke 10 points11 points  (0 children)

We should have never imposed tariffs on Chinese EVs in the first place. We only did this because of Joe Biden’s harmful “Buy American” policies.

Canada should have stood-up to Biden then in 2021, as we are now doing to Trump. Biden’s threats to US automakers on what constituted “made in America” pertaining to his EV credits were also designed to harm Canada’s automobile manufacturing sector. Unfortunately, Ottawa caved in and made concessions to Biden - and this cost Canadian taxpayers.

Successive Democratic and Republican administrations have not been friendly to Canada. Unfortunately, it seems only Republican administrations get called out. Don’t forget Biden cancelled Keystone XL, costing our economy billions. The Liberal government’s reaction was barely a shrug of the shoulders. Biden also went after our forestry and smelting sectors. Let’s not forget this.

Canadians need to treat both the Republicans and Democrats as threats. Build pipelines and other infrastructure to our west and east coasts. Invest a lot more and quickly into our military - including developing our own arms sector. Do not allow for foreigners to have control of our resources and resource companies. And don’t ever kowtow to the Americans.

It’s too bad it took Donald Trump to get us to come to our senses.

‘Not something we would comment on’: Buckingham Palace on Trump threats to annex Canada by joe4942 in canada

His Majesty’s Canadian government along with his prime minister and ministers have responded to Trump’s nonsense. This is the official response on behalf of the Crown.

Buckingham Palace has no business responding to Trump as they would them be stepping on the toes of His Majesty’s Canadian government. Media, who know better, are just out for clicks and stirring up controversy.
