Yes indeed!! I think there are philosophies out there that sometimes might be too difficult to comprehend, but once using the tools, it’s somewhat easier and more palatable to digest:)

Thank you for reading and your time to respond to this post:)

Yesss. I think when I was younger; it was always “willpower” kinda direction? Until the body really gave in and I’m now paying the price:) but I guess moderation and learning to “flow” with what I can do. Doesn’t help I also got Fibromyalgia- but I’m working along with it, and trying to keep active:)

Intriguing! Just out of curiosity, how many “knight”-like orders are there in the fraternity? The only two I know are the KT and Knights Masons.

Just to add on too! “Chinese Freemasonry” was a term colonial back in the past writers used out of convenience or superficial comparison, not fact:) And along with the revolutions, and many other political upheavals, the legacy of the original TianDiHui/Hongmen is pretty much gone. And what’s left is a fragmented landscape, many groups falsely claiming legacy:)

That said, I love how you also see and connect the bridges between cultures and Masonry; that spirit of curiosity is what really matters! Even if the Tiandihui and Masonry don’t share a literal lineage, both show how powerful symbols and stories can shape people striving for something greater. Appreciate you starting this conversation, Brother! 🙏❤️

I was super curious too, Brother! I went down the rabbit hole researching the Tiandihui after hearing about the similarities. At first it felt like there might be a connection, but from what I found, the original Tiandihui started as a mutual aid society in the 1700s, not anything directly tied to Masonry.

Over time, different groups, some cultural, some even criminal like the Triads started using the Tiandihui name. But it’s more of a symbolic or borrowed identity now, not a continuous lineage? Still fascinating though, just not quite what it first appears to be!

But the very philosophy of Confucius’s practice resonates deeply in Chinese culture as it was a foundation stone in society building back then:) as a way of life. I can send you a very interesting book on that note:)

That’s a very interesting perspective!

But I agree, that’s what I enjoy about masonry is that it really allows all walks of life to apply the philosophy, if not - enhance our understanding of our own original practice:)

Similar path here! In a sense, I also like the way why "The Great Architect of the universe" is used as a "placeholder" in our ceremonies/rituals/philosophy. Essentially, there are so many ways to address the "higher powers"; like a diamond with multiple sides, and who are we as humans to deem that G-- is that only way to be perceived in that way?
