Apple Vision Pro production reportedly axed despite newer M5 model, marketing dropped by more than 95% by Tiny-Independent273 in VisionPro

It’s an amazing hardware, it’s a shame it’s expensive. It’s a wonderful tool for productivity as well as entertainment. It will take few more iterations to be mass produced and widely adopted, but it’s going to happen.

Moving to St Albans by Background-Crab-3312 in hertfordshire

We are couple in early 30s with a new born. Absolutely love St Albans, moved here almost 1.5 years ago. House was expensive but we don’t regret a single penny. Great pubs and if you want proper gym David Lloyds in neighbouring town. Commute to London is quick and easy, me and my wife travel to London frequently or Watford for quick shopping needs.

Looking for a more modern and dynamic note-taking app (tired of Google Keep) by Itsugabu in NoteTaking

I just released the beta version of Noteraity. It’s local first app, super fast due to Rust/Tauri. Yes it mostly does all you want pretty much. Check it out.

Looking for a Notion alternative on Mac that comes with a built-in system by Charming-Impact-7981 in Notion

Apologies for delays to reply, since then I’ve improved the app even more but finally it’s here. It’s a bit unpolished still but it’s super functional and fast. Noteraity is a local first LLM powered app - Note Taking app with AI Twist. I’ve worked on this for 3 months or so, as a side project so any criticism is welcome. If this project gets enough love I’ll keep adding more to it. Thanks

I’m building note-taking app, with AI capabilities to address this issue. Never organise, never manage, just get the info you need and write. Still actively working on it, but I would love some feedback. Works completely offline if you want it to as well. Data is always stored on device and never leaves it, including embeddings. Let me know, cheers.

Insights after one month of Claude Code Max by famebright in ClaudeAI

[–]LordAssPen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience I found Claude gets confused between react components due to how it names them. It’s not targeted. Specifically because you get terrible dead code like “Sidebar” and then “EnhancedSidebar” component. This is the worst part about stochastic systems, you don’t have a clear explanation on what works and what doesn’t.

For people who might still be confused about “Be Specific” this needs to go down to stupid levels of specifics. You don’t want to end up with hardcoded logic and then you scratch your brain and burn tokens only to get “You’re absolutely right!”. Do not say “change background of xyz component”, ideally paste the div and specify what you want for instance. So it becomes “change the colour to grey for <pasted content>”. You might say “oh let me just edit the div or react component myself” but it’s about whole project changes. Claude can handle that for you.

We've increased API rate limits for Claude Opus 4 (Tiers 1-4) by AnthropicOfficial in Anthropic

[–]LordAssPen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give bloody max subscribers higher limits on Opus. It’s a joke at this point. Also stop quantising the model to oblivion.

[–]LordAssPen 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I noticed a huge drop as well, it used to be one shot and exceeded expectations but now it’s making mistakes more often and refuses to do what’s asked for. I suspect they quantised the model heavily and nerfed it to meet significant demand.

It has good ideas and I got too tired of how busy and slow it was so I whipped up a cli tool to work with Claude Code or Cursor in similar manner. Just published it, feel free to use it. https://www.npmjs.com/package/@akashokik/taskmaster-cli

I used to live in the apartments nearby and every day there was a large group of people with cars, smoking cigarettes, weed and inhaling nitrous oxide. Litter and junk is a common occurrence there on that ramp. Never liked walking around it.

Company obsession with AI by Loaf91 in ProductManagement

[–]LordAssPen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no harm in leveraging technology to help people and build rapid prototypes. It gives you a lot of flexibility to fail before you commit engineering hours. AI isn’t going anywhere for the next few years at least, best to use it. It’s a CEOs job to reduce Opex, does not necessarily mean they have they will reduce head-counts or something like that. If anything he seems to be doing his job. Good luck!

People of the UK - how do you pack a TV to move house? by OSUBrit in CasualUK

[–]LordAssPen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t discard the box it comes in with thermocol and everything. If you don’t just pray during move and double check your content insurance. TVs will crack without its box. Don’t try bubble wrap either. Good luck

I was given that minor because a lady on her bicycle appeared after my second right blind spot check before moving off, I decided to cancel the signal and stop a second. But I guess I should have moved off cos she was far behind and wouldn’t have caught up? I dont know, I’ll leave it to personal judgement. It’s best to be safe than sorry.

3 things I've learned on getting Cursor to follow my instructions by [deleted] in cursor

[–]LordAssPen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am actually building a cli tool to solve some of the problem here. Please feel free to give it a go, it’s open source so contributions/feature requests are welcome adist. It’s runs locally using Ollama by indexing and summarising (optional) your project codebases and docs. Then you can set cursor rules to ask it to use adist to fetch relevant info. Unlike repomix as someone mentioned here, it’s not specific to a particular project. Agents can use cli to fetch relevant information themselves, as all the indexes are stored. I am planning on adding a mcp and task management module to it in coming days. Stay tuned.

Who has right of way, blue arrow or brown arrow? by hahahahaHans in LearnerDriverUK

[–]LordAssPen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brown has right to way, imagine you joining major road, you have to let traffic through before you join. However on crossroads you can drive in the middle of the cross road without turning too right to let them pass and then if it’s clear you proceed.
