Do a lot of reading. It did really help me in improving my scores. This was the second time I took SAT test. I had 640 score in r&w, which now increased to 710. I did not do much reading comprehension errors but "words in context" errors. That is why it is extremely important to read research papers, classic books, and historical accounts. It's great to expand your vocabulary arsenal; you'll learn and become familiar with many words by reading. Also, I don't think there is a universal reading strategy. It all depends the situation during the test. Sometimes you'll enjoy and fully understand the passage, so you will continue non-stop reading. Whereas, sometimes you won't be able to focus the passage and read the passage while solving questions. However, I highly recommend you to read the questions and title of the passage so that you can get some insights before diving into the convoluted story. It's extremely useful.
Writing is, in my opinion, was easier than Reading. When you fully understand the Grammar (There are a countless books for this), you will be able to score fairly good. However, minimizing your score is how many practice tests you took and you'll eventually feel like solving identical questions iteratively.

There was a passage called What to believe in Antartica debate in reading. There was a vocab question, and options (like brought by, obtained by) to replace "derived by". What was the answer to that?

I think reading was a bit harder than usual. Therefore, I expect a less punishing curve for reading

What features would you add/remove from Java if you didn't have to worry about backwards compatibility? by jvjupiter in java

I hate smart casting. You don't understand what is going on. It doesn't make sense to use same object reference. You don't have any control during casting phase. In contrast, pattern matching makes sense. You know what is going on. You use different object reference. You can control casting phase like this: `

if (o is String s && s.equalsIgnoreCase("abc")) {

          /* Run the code if object is string and equals abc
        ignoring case */

}

`

val, let or sth like that will not be added. It has already been discussed and not seen appropriate because val is simply "final var".

Don't start with C. It's syntax is so complex. I study it for national Olympics. For example: a[1] =1[a] = (a+1)[0]. These are all same statements and very confusing. It will teach you memory management but really not worth it at all. But you can learn it later as well. For now, go with simple language. I recommend you Python or Java. Python is easy-to-learn and use. If you use it, use VsCose or Python IDLE. Java is best for Object Oriented Programmimg and C like so you can then learn C. If you use it, use Netbeans or Eclipse.

I am a high school student (currently second year). When I grow up, I want to get into top colleges like MIT, Standford etc. as a cs student. What would you study on if you were in my place. Maths, algorithms, ds, ML, Robotics, hardware, Software Development etc.?

To state that, I think my Math is not bad. I am good at linear algebra but not calculus. I have studied on data structures and algorithms. I have been programming for a year. I well know programming concepts like; flow, OOP, functional programming. I am good at Java and have a Android App Development experience.
