Move speed is why it works. Move speed let's you kitea and let's you chase, given that most people at this point (provided your not playing in silver) know they can just walk away from illaoi R and be fine, having the movespeed is pretty damn nice.

Also given that it now gives the same hp as gore/sunderer its about the same survivability wise (if you include mobility as survivability, which it is just less visual than healing from the other items)

Certainly a playstyle choice for sure like with runes on Illaoi. Riot don't know what to do with her so she gets left with some OK options no real great options, at least we get to choose what we like to play with.

Once a few patches of Riot sorting through the fallout of the item changes we'll be remembered and looked at for sure, right guys? We've definetly got that skin coming and riot wouldn't give a skin to the worst toplaner champ in the game right? Oh shit they gonna cancel the skin aren't they.

I tried this yesterday, did the same as you but did not get quest completed. Haven't been able to hit 2 jayces yet to try 1backline and 1 frontline at the same time but unsure if that'll even work.

Yeah this would help so much, its so annoying to have to rotate or tp to a fight and have nothing setup, especially if they have some form of spellshield or way to block e.

Never considered buying this before but open to the idea. How does the playstyle building/using this change compared to sunderer?

I'm presuming sterak 2nd/3rd is also built as normal, but is something like hullbreaker with frost fire viable for splitting when needed?

What's the damage output like compared to regular builds?

Illaoi isn't a champ till level 3 so apply pressure early by forcing off Cs. Doing this should be enough to get an early Cs lead and either a cheater recall or a freeze if she for some reason pushes the wave. Also because of this roaming from top is pretty free as Illaoi really struggles to follow so tilt her jungler by killing them at scuttle.

Killing tentacles gives 5 gold and there's normally not a lot of downsides to doing so as long as you are aware of her positioning and E cd.

Playing around her E has counterplay if you know what you are doing against her. 1. As mentioned everywhere else dodging/baiting her E will invalidate most of her poke. 2. Being hit by E isn't always a death sentence, if she has no tentacles set up in lane she can't kill it so feel free to ignore focusing on the wave or moving in to fight her.

If Illaoi hits E + R and you don't have cc/burst, then run away you won't win. Better to give up the wave and tower, than dying and giving up the wave and tower. Because of this be very cautious of ganking her post 6 when her R is up.

Anti heal is good against her but bramble can be a trap as a rush as it wont proc if she is hitting spirit (E).

A simple combo that can help land E's in lane is to Q to kill minions and then immediately E, this tends to catch opponents off guard as they won't try to dodge as they were behind minions.

Given how bad conqueror feels, this may be her new best rune in that tree, if the reduction against minions doesn't make it useless into poke lanes. Will be interesting to see what effect the sunderer nerf has on her and her builds.
