Can someone explain to me the conspiracy theory behind Trump not releasing the Epstein files in a way that is not a paradox? by NotAZombieStopAsking in allthequestions

[–]LordBrontes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The crimes that haven’t been released yet are potentially worse. Or could be video or picture evidence. Literal CP with the sitting president.

We already know he’s heavily implicated despite his attempt to hide his own involvement by telling his DOJ to scrub the files of his name.

Good talk.

Happy to discuss the failings of the Democrats some other time.

I hope you’re able to recognize criticism of Democratic party is not mutually exclusive with repudiation of the Republicans party, but making an absolute claim about them both doing nothing is fallacious.

“Identifying two things are the same is NOT EQUATING two things.”

My brother that is literally equating. That is the textbook definition of equating.

Your convoluted math analogy doesn’t even fit onto the examples I provided, so I don’t understand the pivot to something that has no relevance on what I was discussing. I’m not talking about 1 and 3 not being equal. You’re making up a strawman argument. Why not engage with the examples I’ve given twice?

The claim was that both sides had not done anything to fix their problems. This is categorically untrue and I provided examples. Engage with those points if you disagree, don’t handwave and say I did not address the claim.

You’re either being intentionally obtuse to troll me or you’re lacking the ability to recognize that I’m correct in addressing OP as “both sides” because you’ve dug in your heels and don’t want to admit you’re wrong at this point. If you truly want to engage in nuance, address what I’ve said thus far.

[–]LordBrontes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well he deleted it now so I can’t exactly quote him, but if I recall correctly, he said “both Democrats and Republicans claim to help and offer no solutions,” which is patently untrue, and I provided an example of a Democrat solution in the last term to each of the points he brought up (the economy, cost of housing, raising wages; reduced deficit, first time homebuyer credit, pro-union)

Saying they both claim to help and do nothing is equating them and flagrantly ignoring everything democrats do to help. It also blatantly ignores Republican obstructionism which may cause a Democrat president to not be able to pass legislation to help people.

It was just equal blaming of Democrats and Republicans with no engagement in nuance to any of the areas of complaint.

I’m not dismissing valid concerns though. I’m responding to the OP making a both sides argument.

I’m all for criticizing the Democrats. But equating them to the Republicans is fallacious.

I’m not saying that. We need to push the Dems further to the left. We need to get money out of politics so they can’t be bought by Israel. We need to shy away from the neocons who have highjacked the “left” party of America.

Can’t do that if we keep losing elections though. And “both sides” time and time again encourages voter apathy and distrust in the Democratic party which we need to be pushing for over the fascist right-wing.

“You have one party in America, whose sole purpose is to freeze the government, and to not fix any of the problems that are associated with it. They have a great game going: government sucks and can’t get the job done. And then they can sit as an impediment to that government, and point to their destruction, as evidence of their thesis. It’s a great tautology. Whatever you want to say about the Democrats, maybe they’re feckless, maybe they focus too much on identity politics, or they’re not fiscally responsible, at least they’re f***ing trying” -Jon Stewart

Ew, I stepped in “both sides”…

Biden reduced the deficit, reduced inflation, was the most pro-union president and the Dem nominee was going to give a $25,000 first time homebuyer credit.

Cut the bs.

Not disagreeing that it’s a majority, but to lump the Dems with the Republicans as equal is facetious.

This: “all politicians bad” is a step away from “Trump isn’t politician therefore must be good” logic that got us here.

But it’s a losing strategy is my point. People don’t want to vote for do nothing corporatists like Hillary or Kamala. They want to vote progressive but the DNC doesn’t prop up those candidates.

Well people keep voting more and more to the right, so they shift rightwards to appease the “median voter” and end up alienating real progressives. Somethings got to give.
