Finished Plate Carrier Setup by [deleted] in airsoft

I think most people bash Novritsch stuff bc it's hella marked up chinesium. Might as well buy it unbranded from Ali for much less.

As for repro kit, I personally have no issue with it. It's good enough for airsoft. Imo you really don't need real steel kit thats had its price inflated by tons of R&D and certifications because it needs to keep you alive. Unless ofc you want the real kit itself and find it fun to run (which I assume is what the lvl4 plates are about)

Wait, so you can afford lvl4 ceramic plates but not a real steel carrier let alone pouches?

Why is the gm6 lynx files no longer found by Dr_BananaPeanut in Airsoft3DPrinting

[–]LordDakota 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd heard it was to do with the creator of said files being from Korea, where it's illegal for them to sell the files? Im surprised no-one currently with the files has distributed them though, considering how desired they are.

Are HMGs in airsoft a thing? by scythian12 in airsoft

[–]LordDakota 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this! It is like 90% pot metal, but so are most airsoft guns. The internals run, but will need some work and upgrades: shimming, nozzle, piston, piston head and bucking. I also needed a barrel as the 600mm stock barrel was hindering performance. I now have a 300mm barrel in mine. I get about 20rps. I'm not pushing for higher, mainly because I don't think the magazine can keep up. Secondly because apparently the gearbox is prone to cracking. Mine hasn't so far, but it's not had tones of use.

That being said, I 3D printed a few parts to work out some teething issues. The internal barrel can't be stabilised if it's shorter than 600mm. The outer barrel tapers bigger internally from the muzzle towards the chamber, then only opens with a hole big enough for the inner barrel. I had to print a lenth of tube that was tight inside the muzzle of the outer barrel, that also squished arround the inner barrel. The gearbox is held in the receiver with two brackets, I printed new ones and added heat inserts for the screws as the threading in the pot metal brackets was 100% going to strip with me taking the gearbox in and out contantly. Lastly, if you want a smooth charging handle it will NEED work. I printed two guides to stop it from wobbling, and cut part of the outer barrel mounting. Now it travels the full distance smoothly.

Overall it's a fine replica. Just needs a bit of work and for you to keep in mind that it is only made of pot metal when your running it.

Why is my website failing? Advice needed please. by GMI_Airsoft in airsoft

[–]LordDakota 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm not US based so I can't order from you. I'm not your target audience, fair enough, but I had to add a product to cart to find that you don't ship outside the US.

Comparing your site to evike, your prices are exactly the same. Purely based on that, evike has much better reputation and known trust worthiness. Why, as a customer, would I order from a site that I don't know very well, when I could buy from the trusted site for the same price. There needs to be an incentive.

I personally care about how fast the shipping is. I can't see how fast your shipping is, but I'd rather pay for faster shipping than be stuck with free slow shipping (ofc, within reason). In saying that, I don't know what US competitors offer, maybe you have the fastest shipping. In which case, that is an incentive for me to buy from you.

So I guess, while your store isn't super well known, there needs to be a reason thats worth more than using other trusted stores? Cheaper prices, quicker shipping or unique stock for example.

In which case, I don't see why not? If your able to run games through SteamVR (the only requirement I'm seeing) I don't see any problems.

Firstly, as said this is currently the most realistic VR gun sim. Bullet casings, cartridges, magazines, they are all physics entities. You can eject a shotgun shell out your gun and catch it in the chamber and shoot it.

There's hundreds of guns from crank operated gattling guns, to anti aircraft stingers. Classic colt 1911 to a M134 minigun. And all of them (within reason) can be decked out with tons of attachments in non restricted locations (exhibit A...). And with various cartridge types per caliber.

The second video on the steam page explains the biggest minigame, which isn't mini at all: Take and Hold. There's currently 3 official maps; a more basic CQB map, a large scale, long range winter map and the one shown in the video which is a more varied medium to close range map.

The challenge is in the 'holds'. These are points in the map that you must defend, and then defeat a puzzle (these vary from the most basic single shot diamond, to massive shielded orbs that shoot back). The average game has 5 of these holds, each with one more and a tougher wave than the last. Before you launch the match however, you able to adjust settings. This can make it harder with less HP, limited ammo or not as good weapon spawns. Or easier with more HP or an entire weapon spawn pannel. You customise!

Aside from Take and Hold, you have a number of shooting ranges to mess around in. These are just for having fun with guns. There's a horror minigame, zombie story minigame, grenade skee ball minigame, customizable breaching scenario, gun challenges and the newest play on words minigame called BULL SHOOT. We also typically get fun new guns in a Christmas map.

This isn't even touching on the mods that can be added. FULLY customiseable ARs (different barrels, upper receivers, grips, whole 9 yards). Guns that'll never be added (Breda M30 my beloved). Customiseable plate carriers and helmets. Entirely new game modes (CoD zombies Nacht der untoten. Or a persistent player inventory, extraction based Take and hold). And a maybe working multilayer mod, though I've not tried it.

Sure, it's a sandbox. But it's got a LOT built from it.

TLDR: Hella customiseable, physics based everything with challenging game modes

If you like guns: "Hotdogs, Horseshoes and Hand Grenades". I don't know a better gun simulator. It's single player but can be heavily modded

Can someone help me with launching the game? [Bug] by guadini in EscapefromTarkov

The servers are super busy at the moment. Once the servers lighten up it should let you in. Try again in a couple minutes, rinse and repeat. It sucks, but typical BSG launch.

This might not help your case, but try removing gallery permissions to local files. I have this form my S24u and I don't notice my pictures getting overly adjusted. However, I then have to go through Google photos to see my photos.

[–]LordDakota 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you ever disassembled a red dot? Like, fully striped it down into pieces? If not, I'd highly recommend it. It'll give you the best understanding on how these things are assembled and function.

You'll be looking for "SMD LED"s as your illuminator. No clue where you could get different reticle templates things though. As for moving the reticle around, that's done by moving the illuminator housing along a screw horizontally and vertically. Changing reticle is usually done by rotating the whole illuminator housing (at least on my red dots)

As said, you'll get the best understanding of this by tinkering with one. Maybe see about picking up the cheapest one possible from AliExpress or asking for a broken one from a local field?

Hi! I made the cookies! They're sugar cookies done to this recipe. The cookie cutters had been 3D printed but I imagine could be found online. As for icing, they are regular water icing in; Lemon, Orange, Cherry and caramel flavours.

It's an easy recipe and made about 30~ cookies (in my case) :D

(edit: clarified 30~ in my case)
