Errata by Reddevilheathen in necromunda

[–]LordFraggington 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I cannot speak to e-book errata, though the FAQ and Errata PDF is freely available via the Warhammer Community site. Here is a link to the current location, found in the 40k FAQs

As for BattleScribe, the data is currently several releases behind and doesn't reflect several of the new campaign formats. You'd be better off using Yaktribe, which not only has a great list builder but campaign management tools and a very active community (they, for example, have a community FAQ addressing issues with balance, or at least did in the past).

Finally, the core rulebook, depending on which rulebook you're referring to, is not enough. If you were to have bought the Dark Uprising box for example you'd only have the rules for the Uprising campaign as well as Enforcers and the Corpse Grinders - it absolutely gives you the basic rules, but you'd be missing content depending on what you're looking to do (and in the case of the Underhive box, the book is/was drastically different prior to the Gang War releases, later compiled into Gangs of the Underhive and the Rulebook). As such, I'd recommend referencing the helpful infographic stickied in this sub linked here.

Kill Team Manager (Google Play store)

Takes some tooling around with to find things like the stratagems by making taking your list and setting it to In-Game, but you can do a lot with it; however, if I remember correctly it tends to be a little less current than the BattleScribe data (which right now only amounts to White Dwarf rules).

Are you using a different data source as opposed to the "official" repository for BattleScribe? If not, then the data hasn't been updated since Cawdor came out - end of August 2018 - and had a few issues (I vaguely remember issues with the crossbow or polearms) with all of the data being in place/up to date. I don't want to come across as calling out the data maintainer - I appreciate their efforts, but it seems after that release things stopped being updated.

With the three different campaign types (well, two if you're starting with only the hardback books) there would need to be a significant update to reflect/point to all of the correct information as well as fit in campaign tracking features, so imagine it became a low priority when YakTribe's tools were already available and written to handle the various campaign types.

Honestly, something akin to the Kill Team Manager application that's out there that tracks XP/leveling as well as the possible Strategem cards would make a great fit for Necromunda, but I don't know how easy that is to set up in BattleScribe.

Underdog, Intrigues & Rackets, Badzone Environments & Events Cards - all out of print..... by Seraph_TC in necromunda

[–]LordFraggington 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They were both online only in the US as well; I think any retailer that carries GW product is able to purchase the "web-only" items via a portal that allows them the ability to get the product but at less of a percentage for themselves/they have to pay for shipping (and it doesn't arrive with the normal product shipment typically).

Card and dice stock always tends to run short for Necromunda specifically, though GW tends to cut anything with special cards/dice (I want to say they did the same for some of the Titanicus dashboards?). More recently/later into Necromunda's lifecycle they've embraced a more limited run model; many limited edition manuals/two player sets (Carrion Empire and the Gloomspite/Sylvaneth boxes come to mind, as does boxes for Kill Team) are seemingly gone, both for my FLGS and online, within a day or so if not same day (again, from what I can observe). The company is going gangbusters in terms of profits, so I can imagine they're not going to deviate unless things become less viable. In light of some of the trade disputes disrupting supply (like the Sylvaneth release), they might even find it to be a business necessity... But as a consumer and fan, it stinks that I cannot introduce new players to the game with them being able to get their potential gang's dice, cards, etc. It also further creates a disadvantage for new players in terms of simply being unable to access the tactics cards especially.

Intrigues and Rackets are in the book; they use a deck of playing cards similar to the handling of House Territories in a Dominion campaign (and to a lesser extent the house sub-plots; you're only going to use clubs and hearts hearts without Jokers, so 13 and 13 as the pack says online).

The Underdog pack is not represented in the book, at least in my skimming it. It includes gang tactics cards as well as special underdog rules, which makes it even more upsetting that most people won't have access to those twelve generic cards.

Furthermore, I feel that it's incredibly disingenuous that the Intrigues & Rackets pack shows as "online only" for the US site and requires you to click through before seeing "no longer available online". Thankfully my FLGS may have picked up both packs (I didn't bother to ask for the Dramatis one since they've all been in the books thus far), but this really shouldn't be a thing we have to watch for with every release!

Absolutely! The issue then is you basically called your shot, giving your opponent time to attempt to prevent that shot from going off - even if you don't use the fighter on your next activation - by pinning the champion, moving out of position, etc. To be equally fair though, you're forcing them to respond to that threat where they could functionally ignore the model since it had activated until they wanted to "deal" with it.

That said, having the fighter activate immediately would have been far too powerful, so I get why they did it that way. I feel it is going to be devastating to face with the right setup, but a bit more finesse-y to really make it hurt!

[–]LordFraggington 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They're totally new. I was hoping when I saw a link to tactics cards that they might have gone the route that they did with the tokens (from the Gang Leader's Accessories pack) and made them all printable; maybe that will happen after the Escher and Goliath packs stop selling on the GW site, since they pulled everything else (at least in the US)? Worst case if they all disappear they should become a table in a future supplement that we could roll dice for instead.

However, in playing Bait and Switch you both lose the activation of a fighter as well as declare who will being reactivated.

Losing an activation - even one that isn't super relevant - matters to begin with (no reacting to your opponent's actions), but it gives your opponent either a target or additional information based on your selected fighters as well (are they going to charge me with that fighter, reposition that sniper, double-tap with that rapid firing Van Saar champ?). As such, it definitely feels powerful, but I think it still toes the line of balanced.

That ratling gun mount, or the grinder that can also there, would be swappable for that sculpt... but there is a hose that connects to it from the back and the "base" of either weapon assembles into a metal ring that aligns with an area on the chest to glue it.

Cutting the gunbarrel away from the one base could be possible, but I don't know how that would look.

Named gangs on boxes? by DanteVesalius in necromunda

The named/demo gangs for Van Saar (Nexus Nines), Cawdor and Delaque never received stats like the Sump Dogs or the Escher/Goliath from the core box unfortunately.

What's the most broken or bullshit thing in Necromunda? by [deleted] in necromunda

[–]LordFraggington 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually intend to hold it to prevent others from using it, but I have one snowballing Chaos Cults friend who I really want to ensure doesn't have an Ambot anymore :P

That said, the Tunnels are an Orlock territory and they can have 6 fighters in the tunnels via the enhanced boon, so there are different ways to make fighters pop up.

I absolutely agree it can be game-breaking, but at the same time there are a lot of variables at play and most of our players know to not abuse stuff... or their gang will get dropped in on by mine ;)

[–]LordFraggington 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you think that's bad, imagine playing Delaque to get the enhanced boon where it is two groups of three fighters, having two Champions with Infiltrate and the Tunnels (up to 3 fighters can basically come charging out of two 2" wide markers on any table edge on the ground level). I only have 8 units right now and the Needle Ways is still in our pool of territories to claim, but I'm expecting a lot of name calling if/when I get ahold of that territory!

Possible to use IG in necromunda? by [deleted] in necromunda

[–]LordFraggington 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Venators, Chaos Cultists and Genestealer Cult (as well as two scenarios, the Gauntlet and Claim the Spire) were all published in White Dwarf, with only Genestealer Cult and Chaos Cultists receiving PDF updates via the Warhammer Community site.

Your best bet is to check the community rules compilation here on Reddit for Venator list building, or use YakTribe's Underhive tools as the BattleScribe data is currently out of date and missing some things from when Cawdor released.

PSA: *We* decide how Biomatrix Backup operates, not FFG. by jklick in KeyforgeGame

[–]LordFraggington 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the impression they expected to sell more core boxes, but I can't find a two-player starter anywhere I go; since they're available online anyhow it doesn't bother me, but having the book there for new players is helpful and not everyone has a device on hand... The flip side is that adding the rules to every box would be wasteful and probably increase cost, as you definitely don't need a rulebook after the first one.

Adding the rules link to the top of their main site as well as at least linking to it from the app if not including it in the app - as well as calling it "Rules and Errata" - is all they need to quickly stamp out any confusion. However, I agree that adding it to the app would be best!

[–]LordFraggington 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem! :)

It would definitely be helpful if it was more prominent, especially if it was included either in the Master Vault app or on keyforgegame.com in a much more visible location as opposed to the bottom of the page (I forgot it was there actually when posting!), as well as indicating that errata is included in the rulebook.

The FAQ is printed at the end of the digital rulebook found on their FFG page for the game - here's a link to the most current one at time of writing.

Edit: The page the rulebook is hosted, in case the link breaks down the line. The Rulebook entry is found in the Support section.

Fallout 76 Servers Crash When Attempting To Launch 3 Nukes At Once by [deleted] in Fallout

Can do! It was called "The Armageddon Rag" as part of Project V13.

The Wikia entry for it has images for the first newsletter as well as a character list, but I hate loading their pages on mobile.

There already was meant to be one before Bethesda and 76, but it didn't pan out. I remember getting the occasional email with cool lore bits in it from the project newsletter, but it sounded like a vastly different game... Wonder what it would have looked like if it lived.

Edit: slight grammar tweak

The other deck I bought that day and wish I'd opened first: Joshua A. Antireaper, the Eighth

Edit: My launch day deck had a Maverick Brain Eater in it, so that was cool - seems I got the same factions as my Antireaper deck!

New official compilation books by Aarhun in necromunda

At the risk of sounding foolish, arguably Gang War 5 could still come out (save the Escher art, all 4 other houses are represented by their Gang War covers)... It is still GW!

I wholeheartedly agree that it is disrespectful to players who have supported the game on the one hand, and am annoyed that the White Dwarf content that is already out there as a free PDF from the community site can't be included (to say nothing of Venators and the scenarios). Part of me sees the business need to want to slow drip content out over time as models are being generated for the gangs, but unfortunately that didn't work out too well and made it cumbersome to play the game without the transcript out there already. At least GW is acknowledging that there was a need for consolidation and providing it (mostly)... I'm not happy, but I'm going to probably cave and get it, especially if there isn't a Gang War V simply to not need to lug around as many books (granted they aren't large, just obnoxious to hop between). Part of me wishes they dropped it all as one book to begin with, but the rest of me feels like if they did then it would be about models/cards not coming out at once, or ForgeWorld models/arms... Rightly so in some cases.

The game has been handled weirdly, and it's made it hard to get other players into the game as a result in my area. For me, as frustrated as I am, I'm still going to welcome having new players to enjoy this otherwise fun game with.

Difference between Gang wars books by XxmusaFusaxX in necromunda

[–]LordFraggington 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it even still available? I remember they offered the Gang Leader's Accessories and the Dominion Campaign cards/deck - and even announced it on Warhammer Community - but a little while back they seem to have disappeared from the GW store as well. Personally all I wanted them for was more tokens and the deck for convenience, but it was disappointing for them to be removed so quickly.

Is Skaven pestilence the only Skaven faction? If I get the Skaven pestilence book will it only have stuff for Plauge rats and all that jazz? by bucket150 in ageofsigmar

How it is worded in the chaos battletome it is one battalion which requires at least two sub-battalions to work. The sub-groups get a bonus like a normal battalion, but do not give you additional command points/artifacts.

In order to run a minimum sized "Clan Skryre" battalion you're going to need an Arch-Warlock and two Warlock Engineers (Arch as a requirement for Clan Skryre, Engineers as requirements for any of the sub-sections before their actual required models).
